Gaga herself has performances that top this imo, most notably her performance at the BRITs in tribute to Alexander McQueen. Not everyone has the conceptual balls to perform next to a giant statue of themselves. But the performance that wins is Dance in the Dark @ MB 2.0. A piece of jaw-dropping conceptual, philosophical genius. (And the performance that would've won if MTV had more conceptual balls would've been Applause @ the 2013 VMA's.)
