TF actually took quite a while to write. She was in between labels and decided to keep her demos rather than get paid when she was dropped. I mean Gaga was performing songs from TF at Lollapalooza 2007 (August 4) and she released TF August 19, 2008.

TFM was an EP but she also had a concept of "Monsters" for months and a clear direction of where to go. If it takes Gaga approximately 5 months to write 7 songs (Telephone was pre-Fame) then expect 10+ months for an album of 14+ songs (The Fame, Born This Way, ARTPOP).

You can't compare projects, though. Some of the greatest albums of all time were written in 2 weeks! When an artist is "in flow" the music just comes. Other times, it takes months (or years) to put together something cohesive. It all depends on where the artist is spiritually in their connection to the creative process at the time. With so much media/promo going on in Gaga's life right now (unrelated to music), I would expect this to be a relatively slow time for musical output. Too many distractions, not enough stillness. But the only one who knows the answer to that is Gaga herself. Perhaps these are the times she has her most creativity flowing? We'll never know.

I predict a quarter 2 release. I imagine she will want to focus on promoting and campaigning for TiHTY while finishing up the album. I predict there will be frustration on this forum and many uses of this emoji  as this goes on, along with many complaints about the Dope vocals during her performances of TiHTY et al. 

I think starting promo during this quarter would be a great way to build up hype for a major pop era, but she plans everything so precisely and approaches her eras like she's producing a big musical on Broadway, so it's best that nothing is half baked.

I really don't think the album will be close to ready in February. 

This is all very true, however, we're not 100% certain the album isn't completed.  For all we know, they could already be in the final stages of putting together the final touches.  All we can do is give our best educated guess. 

The stan in me would like her to debut the lead single at the Grammys but if the album isn't ready, it's not going to happen and, unfortunately, we'll all just have to deal with it.
