What Was Gaga's Worst Era Mentally?

I'm just curious to see what people think Gaga's worst era was mentally. Nothing to do with album sale, but just her mental and emotional health.

I think BTW era was her worst era mentally, because if you look at her interviews she always seemed out of it or on guard. Just my opinion. What do you all think?

Definitely ARTPOP 1.0 (summer 2013-Dec 2013). I felt she was a lot better March 2014-November 2014 when she started Cheek to Cheek and went on tour for artRAVE.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Mister Gaga

ARTPOP, her 27's. During the DWUW blackout imo. The album was in stores for less than 2 months and she wasn't promoting it because of all the negativity and criticism. During BTW she promoted as hell, despite backlash. But ARTPOP was just too much for her to handle.

And obviously, it didn't appear one day. She was bad since late 2011. There were 2 years of suffering.

But, thanks God, now a days she seems to be in a really good place, and you can see it in her smile.

Everyone is saying ARTPOP but I believe she was way worse during The Fame/Monster and everything she did afterwards was an attempt at fixing herself after that.

She may have broken down during ARTPOP but it was just a consecuence of everything that happened before it. Remember when she spoke about all the people betraying her in 2012 and such?

Is this even a question?

ARTPOP for sure. :crossed:

But you could see her falling apart during The Fame Monster era onward because she faced the hard reality of everything.

Stressed, depressed, but well dressed.

Obviously ARTPOP, but I would say TFM is second. I think the fans don't remember how drained and depressed she was during that era. She was always so clearly not feeling well in her interviews.

There's no way to tell, in my opinion... I think judging her mental health, solely based on interviews and the way she projects herself is definetely not an accurate or fair way to tell if she is happy/unhappy. Most people believe she was happy during the Fame era, yet her rape accusations can be traced back to an incident that probably occured around that time... She's obviously not as predictable as we think, noone is...

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

Lord Temptation

Late 2012 (the end of the BTW ball) - mid 2014 (Cheek to Cheek release). During the final months of the year long BTW Ball Gaga had endured repeated injuries that forced her to have to undergo surgery in Febrary 2013 and cancel the rest of the tour. Then ARTPOP got sabotaged by her management team, all the while singers like Miley, Rita, Iggy and Lorde were doing their best to make Gaga look ancient. During her interviews in 2013 she seems so distant. Once Gaga started working on C2C early in 2014, you could sense she was starting to heal again. I think Tony Bennett saved Gaga.
