Gianni Versace 2,987 Posted December 27, 2015 Share Posted December 27, 2015 In a series of tweets, verified music producer John Glass is exposing all the things that have caused Rihanna to delay or alter the ANTi album campaign. - Azealia Banks will not be on ANTi (sadly, what the phuck rih ugh) - Nicki Minaj will possibly be on ANTi - Travis Scott (Rihanna's new partner) keeps pressuring Rihanna to scrape everything she's created for ANTi and make a Trap/Urban record - RocNation are also pressuring Rihanna to make an Urban record because they trust Travis - Rihanna's original idea was for ANTi to be a "timeless record" but she's being heavily persuaded to make it a contemporary Trap album (her own 'YEEZUS') - Travis Scott influenced the concept for ANTi being a non-commercial experimental album - That's why BBHMM was released despite it not fitting her previous description of a song she will be able to sing when she's old - ANTi was supposed to drop on November 6th but again, Travis Scott put doubt in Rihanna's mind - The next release date was supposed to be Christmas but unfortunately Travis Scott talked Rihanna into delaying the album once more - "Kiss It Better" was from the original ANTi concept and was supposed to be one of the "timeless" records - Snippets of "Kiss It Better": - Snippet of "Higher", another song Rihanna created originally for ANTi - It's unclear but highly unlikely that both "Higher" and "Kiss It Better" will make the final cut of ANTi - There's a Pharrell-Rihanna collaboration (though who knows if it will make ANTi) - ANTi was ready and could have been released in June of 2015 - Jay Z doesn't want the album released until he sees visible demand for the album TL;DR: Rihanna's original concepts (and possibly songs such as "Higher" and "Kiss It Better") have been reportedly scraped and replaced with Travis Scott's conceptual album idea, 'ANTi', an experimental trap record. (which is probably where the media got the idea that Rihanna wasn't putting any of the 3 ANTi singles, AO, BBHMM, and 45S, on ANTi) As much as I love Rihanna and am excited for this album, she really needs to tell Travis Scott to kindly back the phuck off and stick with her original timeless record idea. I knew from the very beginning that ANTi didn't seem Rihanna at all. The only thing that confuses me is why this producer spilling all this tea is calling her his wife? It suprises me when artists as big as Rihanna (and Gaga) are so confined and limited by their managers/label. You would have thought she would have more control. It's her relationship with Travis. She trusts him and his direction almost to a fault. I feel like he uses her for promotion. As for John Glass, I think that's just a term of affection. It's as if all pop albums have to have a concept, a sound, etc. Stuff like Umbrella, Single Ladies, Poker Face.. we just don't have anymore.
