Not gonna argue she has stepped on everyone's nerves (poor Navy) with this album, but I'm still excited for the new music. Hopefully she figured it out. The ANTI diaRy is actually pretty clever as a marketing idea, and the visuals are stunning. Too bad it came that late. The album would have been released long time ago if any of the 3 "promo" singles had picked up. That's what happens when you rely on other people's talent to write a hit song... Iwontell 7,312 Posted December 23, 2015 Share Posted December 23, 2015 Promo is a very debatable thing...Beyoncé (the album) had no promo at all and it did great using the element of surprise in it's favor...it translated into sales in a way no promo could... Keeping people hyped and talking about you is one thing and it doesn't take that much to do. That's what Rihanna has been doing...but after a while people do grow tired of waiting and move on to something else. Besides, creating too much anticipation can backfire - people start expecting the impossible from you if they're too hyped. Rihanna has never been the kind of artist that has amazing first week sales and I don't think it will be different with ANTI...so, in a way, I don't see the point of promoting it now. Rihanna's promo has always been how successful she is with her singles, they're what sell her albums and give them longevity on album sales charts. That's what she needs to do: catchy single, nice video, being played in clubs... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.
