Vapid no-brainer statements about the complexity of the conflict without making a statement about how exactly the conflict is complex and without offering a line of thought to discuss it properly, aren't helpful either. And, frankly, they're more annoying.

They've been repeated so many times that at this point they are presumed to be common knowledge among those interested in the subject.

"Doing well relative to the Middle East but still below Egypt Lebanon and Tunisia" equates to "Israel is hell on Earth"?

No Simon. This is simple ad hominem. Don't make assumptions regarding the OP's intents, and focus on the arguments not the presentation, especially when the quotes used are from the article which is clearly linked.

then why it's in the topic line? Sensationalism.

We can easily reverse it. Why do you keep making threads about "terrorist attacks" in Israel during which people barely get hurt? It looks pretty irrelevant too next to events in other regions of the world, especially those connected to terrorism.

I agree that this topic was made from a bias but on the other hand, it was just an article, there was a link, there is plenty to discuss here and to carry the direction to the right direction. You crying antisemitism and sensationalism isn't doing any good, especially when you don't even try to hide that it's an evasion of facts.

It's the title of the article linked.

An article written by a hot guy on an Israeli online newspaper.

If anything he should be accusing the writer of the article linked not the OP :deadbanana:

Well, it just don't make sense. I mean the OP should have chose a country where this really is a problem instead of using it to make an anti-Israel thread. Could have tried to search another article since I think it's important to address such problems.

Of course the Times of Israel is reporting on Israel, but the OP could have chosen an article which is country-neutral if the OP really is interested to spread awareness.

I don't really agree. You never use non-Israeli sources for Israel threads, even when they're necessary (as I once caught you using an unfactual Israeli source).

Israel is a heavily discussed topic on this forum, threads like this are just expected. You might as well use the opportunity to address the wider problem by actually addressing it in the thread instead of criticizing the thread itself (imo).

But those are two different pair of shoes :flop: One is about actually attacks which is directly connected to Israel while the OP here uses a world-wide problem to reflect it on Israel while other countries have it way worse in that case.

And I can pretty much criticize the thread as much as I want. I don't get how you can get in the position to criticize threads, but not me.

This isn't an anti-Israel thread. It's an Israeli-centered thread.

I don't see why it should not be chosen, especially since controversial figures make the best vessels for spreading awareness.

As a Gaga fan, you should know this.

I also notice that you haven't even bothered to address the issue in the OP.

Being an online IDF isn't exactly necessary on GGD.

When did I criticize an Israel thread lately? The only threads I criticize are the ones that are actually sensationalist and serve absolutely no discussion purpose. You admitted yourself this thread reveals an important problem, so what's the big deal, even if Israel is used as a focal point (in the OP)? Like I said, Israel is an important country because many see it as a "middle gate" between the Middle East and the West in terms of cultural standard (incl. by you). I don't see anything particularly wrong with discussing Israel separately, especially since, as the article states, it has a special relation to human trafficking.

I don't really think it's controversial. If the OP said the shocking number of "slaves" that would be controversial.
