I think she's good at most of the things she does but she's not the best at them, like she has many talents but she's not the most talented in those talents if that makes sense :duck: Overall if we're taking everything into account I do think she's definitely up there :flutter:

i feel like y'all are forgetting about beyonce ahha!!!!!

Beyonce is not a versatile singer. She also doesn't play any instruments nor writes most of her music.

from pop stars yes

p.s shes not good or amazing at producing and directing

She has co produced most of her songs. And fully produced Venus which I consider to be very good. Her direction in Marry The Night and Guy is also far more complex than any of her directors have ever done on her music videos.

Everyday I find a new reason on why a lot of lady gaga fans are so stupid.

Other than dancing, she is very average at just about everything else.

She's a great songwriter, great performer, and has amazing visuals. Vocalists aren't the only talent a musician should have because there are some amazing vocalists out there but are horrible performers which is why the audience doesn't applaud them because of their mediocre stage presence/medicore music.

Nah, but she doesn't have to be. She's talented enough.

I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

What are you talking about? Erykah Badu produced all of her new mixtape by herself, with Zach Witness only co-producing Cel U Lar Device.

Yes, Grimes is "indie", but that doesn't disqualify her hard work and willingness to experiment. Grimes has shown a desire to break into mainstream before, most recently with Flesh Without Blood. She doesn't want it as bad as Gaga, and making ridiculous performances are not her style, but she pushes the boundaries of music itself much farther than Gaga does. She's one of very few popular shiver pop and witch house artists.

Music and artistry are not about who can shock the most amount of people, or who can put on the biggest show. Artistry at its simplest form is the most beautiful. Snarky Puppy alone, they're a billion light years ahead of Gaga in musicality, and they are very successful with it. They can create a show just as enthralling as Gaga's without any theatrics.

See:

Even more generic artists, such as FKA Twigs, who is trying to break into the pop scene, create much more intricate music, lyrics, and artistic videos than Gaga. FKA Twigs wrote, produced, and directed Glass & Patron:

It's worth to note that FKA Twigs also directed part of the M3LL155X short film, which was very well received and even compared to the legendary works of David Lynch.

Just because these people aren't mainstream doesn't mean that their artistry is less. If anything, it makes it easier for them to excel at their artistry, because unlike artists such as Gaga, they are not limited by the audience they would lose over it.

Having different ambitions doesn't make any of these artists less talented. Wanting to be a pop star is not better than just wanting to make music for a living, which is honestly more respectable than just wanting to be famous. Doing something you love for a living is admirable, and if fame happens to come with it, then cool.

Excuse me but that's your opinion :awkney:

lol @ some of you naming random indie musicians as being better artists than Gaga.

Sure some of them may produce better music, but they don't know how to make anyone listen. They're probably better musicians, but they are nowhere near Gaga in artistry.

Picasso wasn't the best painter, but he knew how to attract people and make them appreciate the art. He was a truly great artist who managed to influence culture and inspire generations of painters.

Those random indie artists don't do that. They're the ones that draw pretty landscape drawings but don't actually know how to make people pay attention to what they have to say, except for the occasional pretentious "real music" seeker.

Gaga has the whole package... versatility, music, presence, vocal ability, performance, gravitas, power, message.

She utilizes them all effectively to create art that transcends into an experience, with influence Grimes and Co. can only dream of.
