10,000,000 in 28 days.

That's roughly 305,000+ copies of 25 sold every single day around the world since it's release on November 20th.

Media Traffic has released their numbers for 25 and it's utterly astounding.

In no less than one month, Adele's 25 has  sold approximately 10,000,000 copies across the world, beating out it's nearest competition for 2015, Taylor Swift's "1989" which took two years to sell 8.7 million copies WW.  It has become the second highest selling album of the decade, falling in second place to Adele's own 21 (32 million WW). This week, it surpasses Michael Buble's "Christmas" which has sold 9.3 million copies WW.

For it's third week on the WW market, it has moved 1.7 million total copies this week, beating out it's nearest direct competition, Coldplay, which debuted with 800,000 copies.

As it is the gift that keeps on giving, Adele's "25" is expected to finish with 12 million copies around the world this year and achieve diamond certified status in the US in Mid-spring, with it's US Sales finishing somewhere just below or above 8 million copies for 2015.

That's not true :crossed: There have been a couple of great albums this year. I love Adele, but these numbers don't define the quality of the album. It sure is a great album, but those sales are definitely boosted by a sort of momentum that Adele is having after years of laying low. It's also an album that many people would buy, but no necessarily their favorite. It appeals to a large audience, but that doesn't make it excellent in everyone's eyes, even the ones of the people who bought it.

Anyway, again, I love Adele and I'm extremely happy for her success, it just rubs me the wrong way when her commercial success becomes an argument to dismiss other artists' efforts this year.

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.

I can't begin to imagine where this will finish :omg: Like for how long will this super fast pace be kept? Even when it slows down it'll be selling loads but I really want to forward time and find out where it lands when it's not selling as much to make a difference anymore :laughga:
