For the last time, an average rating like that does not qualify as good.

The final score counts and it says 85%. No one who uses Rotten Tomatoes gives information of the average rating. Like you yourself said, the final score only represents the portion of critics that liked the episode, and it says 85% (11 liked it, 2 didn't like it). How is this not a good score?

In this episode's case, most of the reviews didn't use ratings. If you read them, you'll see that a lot of them don't even give an opinion, they just give a synopsis of the episode and RT lets them count as "Fresh" when they're not. So with that in mind, it's ridiculous to say that 85% of the critics was positive, since the majority of those reviews listed there are most definitely average in terms of praise. That's when looking at the average score and reading the rest of the reviews becomes a must.

But anyway, I already feel bad posting. I just criticized someone for coming in one of my threads for no reason and I guess I did it myself. I just don't like how RT is used on this forum to give the impression that things get great reviews when really, that's not the case.

I like hotel for the drama and puzzaz but I have to admit this season lacks two major components. One is Jessica Lange (please don't attack me) :laughga: and the other is a question that needs to be answered. Season one - Can the Harmon family escape unscathed from the Murder House?; Season two - Will Lana figure out who Bloodyface is? Can she escape the Asylum? Will the demon triumph over good? (The questions that needed to be answered were many that's why it was messy but satisfying); Season three - Who is the next Supreme and will the Coven survive?; Season four - Actually not a concrete question but I guess, will the freaks survive (?). Season five did not have a driving force. The closest is TCK but that story line is not a threat to half the cast of the Hotel. The question of if the Countess will survive or not was introduced near the end. Where's our investment and who are we rooting for?

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Wow, this is so spot on. I love Hotel, but as the season unwrapped I started feeling that things in the story are just happening without no ultimate goal. Like all stories related to the Countess, and the story arc about the 10CK. I'm still hesitant as to whether they will combine both stories at the end. So far, all seasons have ended brilliantly. I hope Murphy's twisted mind has thought about some sort of convergence or at least connecting the two stories in a more meaningful way.

Besides, they have so many questions to answer. About the people with the virus - apparently they can't become ghosts or? That monster or whatever it is, that made a few cameos? Also, while I like how the season explored the addictions, some things were left underdeveloped. The mom-son relationship was particularly interesting to me as a subplot. On the other hand, I wish Sally had more on-screen time, her character is one of the best this season. And I really don't know where are they going with the family thing. What do they want to show? A dad, ready to give justice on his own, making him a murder, a crazy mother that is obsessed only with her son, and together they leave their daughter. Is the lesson that they are lost in the long run? I dunno, for me this season failed to integrate the family element well. I remember in season 1, as the story developed you really start caring about their faith, and in season 5 it is lacking something, there is not too much depth or tension, almost living in separate worlds (which could be the idea?).
