I think there's no real queen of pop right now. The only one who's really relevant between those 4 is Beyonce. I think that the relevant status is when you're know not only in the USA, UK, Australia. You're relevant when you're well know in whole world. I live in Croatia, and young people know all these artists but the alders know only few. I was talking with my mum other day and we were talking about american and british artists and she only know like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna,... When I asked her about Katy Perry or Taylor Swift, she said that she never have heard of them. I've showed some Katy's music videos (California Girls, E.T.) and she says that she has see them but she thought that's Gaga because of crazy chlothing and stuff.

Okay, I must say that Katy and Taylor are much more succesful than Gaga but they haven't had any impact on today's pop music. I mean, just compare the chlothing at the 2009 and 2010 VMA's. After Gaga they all have became crazy and they have started wearing crazy wigs and stuff.

Beyonce? That guy is a moron. it is obviously Taylor. She RULED the year. Sure Adele snatched the last 1,5 months, but Taylor was the main girl in the other 10 months. She is the current queen and that's a fact.

Taylor, much as I hate to admit it. But it's only because she literally has no competition. Gaga. Katy and Beyonce haven't put out any new stuff since 1989 came out. Ariana has released one single that underperformed and Rihanna is hopelessly lost for once in her career. Britney has just reached the point where she can no longer have successful singles anymore. Xtina and Kesha are out the game. Madonna and Mariah are simply too old to be get sales from the youth market anymore. All the female artists from reality tv singing shows have had their day and no one makes it on these things anymore anyway. And Adele is not pop, she's neo-soul, so she doesn't count.

This is what I mean when I say that Taylor isn't as big as she's made out to be. She's only getting all this success because she released a super generic, safe album at a time when pop was in decline and there was no one around to pose a challenge to it. Success is all relative. If she'd made this album back when Gaga/Katy/Rihanna were ruling in 2008-2011, it might have been a very different story.
