I think I have heard that the Academy Awards are very picky about the copyright on clips of their show, so I think that might be why they won't let Gaga use it. But I guess over 100 million, it felt like a really big deal and I heard about it everywhere.

i remember seeing the performance on the YouTube homepage with 9 million views in 8 hours - (it was deleted after like 10 hours)

They missed their golden opportunity, imagine if it was uploaded in February, it would have gotten 100 million views and certified.

Over 50 million. The Facebook video alone was close to 20 million and another on YouTube was at 10. Not to mention the multiple videos that had 3-5 million. All in just a matter of days. Plus, the video would have been shared more over a longer period of time if there was just one that had a more impressive view count. People would click on account of the views alone
