Spectre Theme Song

  1. 1. Should Lana Del Rey have been chosen as the singer of the 'Spectre' theme song, or was Sam Smith the right choice?

    • Sam Smith, his voice makes me weep.

    • Lana Del Rey, she was born to sing a James Bond theme song

Carly is bubblegum pop and Brooke is hip hop. I'm not quite sure I understand the logic of how you came to this decision

I think your sarcasm meter might be broken.

Personally, Lana and a Bond theme seem like a match made in heaven.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

Lana is the most suitable person for such songs. Her voice is a movie itself. Listen to Big Eyes by her.

I absolutely love the bolded part of your post. It's a perfect description! :flutter:

What Lana said: "I would’ve done it if I was asked but I wasn’t asked."

What desperate-for-clicks people heard: "I was expecting to be the Bond girl and am absolutely appalled that they chose that pretty-boy one-album-wonder limey over a femme fatale like me."

You guys know that artists are supposed to send in their tracks to be considered for Bond movies, right? We have lists of songs and artists that were considered for the position (and we have recordings of the actual songs) but ultimately rejected. It's pretty obvious if you read what she actually said that Lana did not "await" anything; that's 100% conjecture.

I'm glad Sam Smith was asked and the decision wasn't up to the majority of the folks here. Spectre was so much cooler with Sam.

Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

In Billboard's article it states,

"Lana Del Rey was ready to anoint herself the next 007 crooner, according to an NME interview with the singer. Apparently the only snag was that no one thought to ask her."

I did not make the title for clicks, i could care less. I chose that title because "awaiting", was a shorter way to write "ready to anoint herself the next 007 crooner", because GDD wants us to keep out titles short. I'm sorry your pressed, i really don't know how to help you with that.

Here's the article:
