Of course she will. Her team spent money on promo and music vids, excluding them would make ANTi flop even harder

Wow you seem awfully confident about that but whatever. I personally think it could have gone either way.

I don't think it would flop compared to having them on. I think it would do relatively the same since it could count as a new body of work with new visuals/concepts etc. Whatever you say though.

She will sell 100k just because of her name tbh. If she actually releases a good song before the album relese, I can see it going 175k, but at this point yeah around 150k seems true..

Didn't they say that last week though... and the week before that?

This :derpga:

Maybe it isn't even done and that's why her team is pushing it back and back and back.... :toofunny:

What I can't understand is why, after 7 years of non-stop albums, each one as successful as the last, she has her first career break and suddenly everything goes to sh!t.  After some time off, you'd expect her to come back better than ever. With all that time to prepare, how has it become such an absolute categorical disaster? Did she, like, completely restart her album after her first few singles didn't do as well as expected?

Christ, this makes ARTPOP look like an organized, cohesive era. :laughga:

She did have a 2.5 year break between GGGB and Rated R. It resulted in an underperformance, although not as bad as it could be. It clearly shocked her team and forced them to release 3 consecutive albums, for fear that she would become forgotten if she didn't release constantly. And it worked. So, after 7 years of success and becoming a household name, the time seemed right to take a break again, but be properly successful with a comeback this time. Now, obviously, the plan wasn't to wait as long as this - if 45S was an undeniable smash, we would've got the album in April. Rihanna was talking about how much she loved the new album back in February. That sounds like someone who's speaking about something that was almost complete. But negative fan reception started to creep in and before we knew it, a blackout had commenced and nothing was moving. I'm shocked that her team didn't think a top ten hit worldwide was enough to launch an era on. It did better than 90% of pop girls these days! Most of them would walk across hot coals for a hit like that in this music climate! It's sad that her team don't seem to have much confidence in her so much so that no #1 means an album re-work. I too, am shocked that it all went wrong so quickly and easily. But she is under new management now, a whole new label. And I don't think they really know what to do with her. After Unapologetic, I predicted she was going to take a break and maybe release an album by summer 2014. It didn't happen, so I extended my prediction and now I've given up trying. Normally, I estimate negatively (if I think an artist will flop, they'll be a hit, if I think they'll be a hit, they flop), so to think I overestimated massively is shocking. She's pulling an Xtina on us!

At least now we know how bad it can get, though. Turns out, you can do a lot worse than ARTPOP. That there's always someone who's flopping worse. At least now other artists know what not to do. Because if a big artist like Rihanna can have a downfall, anyone can. To think, if she'd released the album earlier in the year when she was supposed to, she could have had some Grammy noms. But the lack of an album to present the singles with maybe made the academy just not take her seriously and thought there was no point in awarding stuff that might not even make it onto the final release.

Psychedelic

She's never had a strong opening week of sales with any album, and with the decline in record sales overrall, this is actually just nice!

According to Live Nation, it will be released this week! *pray*

I've been hearing this for the last 2 weeks, it's really getting old. If you ask me, it's actually been getting old for years tbh.
