The Fame Monster was made by that artist after she hit the worldwide scene and saw how scary it can all be.

Born This Way is an album that has to do with society and how we fit in or don't fit in. It's acceptance and tolerance with a dash of pride.

ARTPOP...it's different...it's personal. It's born out of some of the most painful, confusing, and unfair experiences of her life. Every song has to do with how you feel not how others feel about you. It's depressing, exhilarating, uplifting, even a bit scary and just helps you to cope with...anything. It still remains the only album I can play from front to back and still be moved two years later, never tiring of it.

Call me pretentious if you'd like, I just think it'd be a shame if Gaga did a 180 and just wrote catchy hooks with fun beats like The Fame has instead of moving forward. It's just my opinion that I want more like Dope, Swine, Hair, Marry the Night, etc instead of Just Dance's and Bad Romance's. It's not like I'd be mad, exactly. I'd still buy the album, sing every word, go to the tour, but I'll definitely be looking forward to the album after if that's the case. Thankfully, I don't think we have to worry about that. She can't look at that sunset every night and not write artsy fartsy music

This, right here!!  Thank you so much for taking the words out of my mouth.  Like you, I'm really tired of reading all these posts made by other users who don't waste a single opportunity to bash ARTPOP.  You don't like the album?  Fine!  You're entitled to your opinion and we're entitled to ours.  We can express it without being so condescending.

For those of you who will be pissed about what I just wrote, yes, this is a pop forum and we all should be able to express our opinions but let's do it in a civilized manner without coming across rude.

also you can write [img ]the link of the gif[/img ] but, whitout the space, all together

There's also an option at the bottom right that says: Insert other media, click there, insert image from URL, u paste the link of the gif there and that's it

That being said, I'm honestly not here for some generic album. Gaga is really the only pop artist I like. This isn't about being pretentious, It's that I look at certain performances of Gaga and I know she is better than the pop constraints she has put herself into.

Is it pretentious that I find Katy Perry's music boring? That I get bored of her singles after a week of rotation? To me that's just taste, I can't help that. Yes I would prefer Gaga go in a more mature direction, ditch the electro-pop sound which she is making "generic" and move onto something that really highlights her talents.

I don't want her to make music that is catchy for a week and then unbearable to listen to. I want her to make music that I can listen to over and over. If that results in singles that don't smash every Katy Perry song on the radio and doesn't obliterate the competition then I really don't care.


Gaga has mass taste, I don't mean that in a bad way it's good. I'm sure she is capable of creating something that's interesting and different that still appeals to enough people to ensure a successful album and a WW tour. After all the work she has done winning over another audience with C2C, making some sort of "basic" album aimed at teenagers is the complete opposite direction she should go in and I don't think it's a direction she is interested in going in either.

I prefer that attitude, no need to go the root of the younger pop girls. I want more mature content from her now and it seems like she is ready to deliver.

I love that quote of Gaga's. If my faith in her wasn't there before it's certainly been restored now.

I know Gaga can and will write what she wants, but don't come for her if her lyrics are generic. She tried to appeal to only us Monsters as fans with BTW and ARTPOP, and she lost a lot of the casual fans, and what was left after ARTPOP-a small monitory who didn't hate her/belived in her. Isn't it the GP's turn? Sharing is caring hunties 

My point is that ARTPOP was too complex for the GP and that message is why they left it alone. Please do not tell me you want another complex art idea just to be pretentious again and confuse the coin, relevancy, praise and love away. 2013's backlash is not something I wanna go thru again-and that is what we will go thru again if Gaga doesnt pull something safe, stripped back and serious at this point of time.  

Gaga writing generic music for #LG5 isnt gonna take our precious ARTPOP away. LG5 isn't gonna take our precious Born This Way away from us, so chill. This morning I just saw a basic bitch on Twitter, mangle the meaning of a song with a simple enough meaning sooo much… *cringe*-that it made it clear; this lack-of-thought-while listening to pop things, is why pop music can't have nice things-it's core audience can't handle it. 

The funny thing is she's never written a tragically basic un-artistic song-(bluffin w/ my muffin - Just Dance, Poker Face's secret bisexuality meaning)-so why do y'all think she'll randomly pull a complete Katy Perry now?

P.S. Gaga said in the sunset video she's writing music that will appeal to millions, so why is this topic still a discussion I saw on a thread like 5 mins ago lmao
