Nino 12
Just now, Bebe said: Gypsy wasn't my cup of tea personally, but even if I loved the song that's a reach to make. The fact that RedOne made one song on Gaga's album different to what they have made before doesn't show that: 1. "RedOne IS Lady Gaga's sound" something that would only hold some truth if TF and TFM where her only albums. 2. Making an album without RedOne would not be "staying true to herself" which seems to suggest that RedOne completes her, like she magically became whole when she started working with him and that she would be denying a part of herself if they professionally separated for an album. I'm not saying Gaga won't work with RedOne, I'm not saying she shouldn't and I'm not saying any potential work she does with RedOne would be regressive and bad. It just that I disagree with your bold claims that RedOne IS her sound and that working with RedOne is staying true herself. I didn't say that working with Redone was staying true to herself, I had said that NOT working with RedOne would feel inauthentic to what Lady Gaga is. I then said that she's one to avoid looking inauthentic because of the nature of her brand. As for RedOne's influence on LG's sound I don't think that even Stefani "I'm inspired by no one" Germanotta would deny that he's been instrumental to finding her sound, even in the event that she drops him permanently. That's what is implied though, if not working with RedOne would be inauthentic to what Lady Gaga is then being authentic and true to herself would mean working with him. Of course RedOne was influential in finding her sound. I wouldn't try to deny that and never have.

monketsharona 80,297
I'm pretty sure if she has to drop someone it will be DJWS... I don't feel like their work really fit... Especially after reading that Billboard interview and what she said about her way to work on ARTPOP... With RedOne we always see her composing, experimenting instuments, we see her at the piano or playing guitar and so on. I feel like she more confident and creative with him... Just my opinion.. Head Empty 25,071
A lot of you guys are reeeaaallly projecting your own tastes onto Gaga . Just because you think one producer is better than the other, doesn't mean Gaga shares this preference or that she enjoys working with them more. Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ᵃˢˢ 🕺
Manul 7,377
It'd be sad. I mean, she said she's working with him closely, that he's gonna be the main producer. I'm expecting his productions it wasn't laaaahv
RAMROD 109,262
Personally I always wish the best for Gaga. I will enjoy the fruit of her labor either way.

Marry the Night, The Edge of Glory, Born This Way, Paparazzi, Applause, Do what you want and many others feels very Lady Gaga's sound to me and neither of them are by Redone. Spooky 501
No complaints from me, I wouldn't mind a RedOne-free pop album. By the way, he only co-wrote a small part of Gypsy, he produced nothing on ARTPOP. like a ghost, i vanish into you

All of her albums so far are dirty euro dance-pop, and many of her songs that RedOne didn't produce still follow the same sound and formula that they cultivated so closely that they may as well have been produced by him (e.g. Venus, Gypsy, Applause). So far he is her quintessential producer since he does her signature sound best, but of course if we want her to go in a totally new direction than it might be ideal for her to work with entirely new producers. I think RedOne co-writing with her on this record will be great but I'd only hope for a lot of production from him if he can come up with a completely new sound for her. Riot Poof 2,236
As long as the music is great, I don't care who produces it. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

Absolutely, he wasn't even her first choice to produce ARTPOP. And if anyone thinks she'll be making that kind of music again anytime soon then they haven't been paying attention to anything this past year Personally I doubt she'll work with any past producer again aside from RedOne and Rubin. You could certainly make a case for ARTPOP, but it's harder with Born This Way. With Born This Way she broke away from that sound to a larger degree. She sung in major keys and broke away from the sort of formula she had used previously with RedOne. You can see it in the singles, with the obvious exception of Judas. You can hear her return to that formula with Applause, certainly, but RedOne is less involved only working on Gypsy. The production of DJWS and Zedd may be dance-pop but it's vastly different from the sleek, minimalist productions of RedOne. It's also pretty hard really to completely attribute that formula to him considering she has written her own songs. As I have said already, RedOne was influential in finding her sound. If you believe Gaga to be her quintessential and most recognisable/ "Gaga" producer that's a fair opinion to hold, but saying that RedOne IS Gaga's sound is a little much imo.
