Ari admitted she can't control her whistle register yet but she can still do it at least for her studio recordings. I also see her in some of her random vids doing it live. But she hasn't used it since My Everyting era (though i saw one of Frankie's videos of Ari doing whistle for Problem while they were riding in a car). Why? I was really slayed by it when I heard her Emotion cover for the first time. Really hope she will use it again on her next record,. :noparty:

She did some near-whistle tone notes while singing Focus on a radio interview

You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

Did I say she wasn't fashionable or did you assume that by yourself?

Fair, enough. Still only 2 tho, I think we should bring  this up again if she doesn't do it on moonlight .

I think she's just using it less after she milked it to death before :rip:

It felt like there was a period where there wasn't a single performance of hers that involved whistle tones... sometimes they bordered on shouting :rip:

I do love me some Ariana though, I'm glad she's using it less.

Afraid  of damaging her voice and Mariah comparisons.

Did she use it on the studio versions of ME? Because I only hear upper head voice from her. Same with YT.

you mean falsetto?

OT:

With the wrong technique, whistle tones can kill the Vocal Chords. Look at Mariah, she sang Whistle Tones 20 years straight, so she spent this whole year working with new coaches, doctors etc. to get her back her voice (which you could see in a concert she performed in October where her vocals were really good again), or even during the Daydream Era, in which she recorded Butterfly (her hardest singing album to date) and was on Tour. On the Butterfly Tour her Vocals sounded great but not as great as on the previous tour.

What I am saying is that Ariana is resting her Vocals. She doesn't want to lose her voice in 2 years. She can do whistle tones for sure but the more she does them, the more her voice will be damaged. I could see her using them in a song or two on her next Album tho.

Didn't the same thing happen to Xtina and Whitney?

I think a problem with these super talented vocalists is that everyone expects them to constantly perform these extremely difficult notes all the time (because they have this ability) and it greatly increases the risk of damage. Every performance era they are expected to up their game vocally and I imagine with too many strenuous performances may prove too tiring for them to perform as accurately as they should. Ariana is smart to want to protect her voice.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
