You're being ignorant now, please stop.

Watch the video, have some tea, snuggle up and at least START educating yourself

I have no words.Your entire argument has been: "Rich people should give more money and whatever they give is never enough since they will always have more money than everyone else no matter how much they give".

This is literally the most one-sided debate I've had on this site. You're horrible at this. Why am I still here. The self-victimization is real.

Also, that video is so biased.

I have to be honest, i was a bit disappointed that she posted that tweet. When so much has happened, she decided to comment on something just because it's nearer to her own home. As well, i really don't love that she took part in embracing that french flag in her twitter.

I feel like she talks mostly about what she's familiar with, and i can understand she doesn't quite have all that time to invest in knowing more about history, religion, etc.

But it's true she does this political stands of peace in a very half-baked way, with much fear of polarizing opinions. She better work on that from now on. There's nothing worst than politically correct, this kind of passivity can be ins't innocuous.

"If you want to make a world a better place, take a look at yourself an make a change"!!! And please Gaga get your balls back!

It's those things, doing nothing bad doesn't really mean it's good. Bye Though what HMLSwine said was mostly very true.

That's human nature. If my neighbor got shot of course I'm going to react and talk about it more than if someone in the Congo got shot.

Yeah no problem there, it was probably a spontaneous reaction.

But i would very much like for her to take her social and political stands in a less generic way. She's not superhuman but she's said many times she has a mission.

How is it biased? You don't rebuttal very well, don't claim something without evidence:P

REALITY
6 hours ago, Didymus said:

How does it have that effect when she, just like nearly every other celebrity who tweeted about Paris on Twitter, ignored all the ISIS-related events including the terrible attack in Beirut (which even Obama intentionally ignored) around the same time?

That flag is nothing but a symbol of selective outrage and a horrid way of supporting the military actions of a country that is literally painting a target on its chest.

In her defense and of other people's too, talking down to people like Gaga and others who choose to change their profile picture to the French flag doesn't absolutely nothing. Yes, while you do have a point regarding other terrorist-related events, what do you personally get out of complaining about someone else's profile picture? Nothing.

Their intention is not to spread hate or try to be selective about how they view the world. It isn't anyone else's fault but the media. We don't hear about the events in the Middle East because the media doesn't choose to cover them as often.

To make this clear, I am not defending Gaga just because I am a fan, I'm defending her because at least she's trying to show some support; I don't believe that she or anyone else for that matter is trying to use it was a "symbol of selective outrage". Complaining about what other people do on their own accounts doesn't solve anything and does nothing for anyone.

So if she changes her avatar to a French flag that's an issue. If she tweets about something showing sympathy that's another issue. If she says nothing at all and doesn't show sympathy, that's yet another issue.

Why so many issues? More issues than Vogue? Anything positive you put into the universe needs to be received as such. The more positive things you put into the world, the better off you are. I'm a believer in karma. Good out, good in.

I personally don't see an issue because she can tweet whatever she wants and her heart is in the right place. I just think people are overreacting over 140 characters, but that's my opinion. She is correct about media glorifying these murderers (guarantee very few remember victims names), but that's a whole other discussion for another day.

Because there is no issue, honestly. This is a case of people picking the wrong battles to fight.

And everyone was complaining when she hadn't tweeted anything about France

Exactly!  It's a no-win situation because if she posts something, people attack her and call her a hypocrite and if she doesn't post anything people come at her so she'll never win.  This is natural, though, because Gaga will never 100% simultaneously please everybody.

IMO, Gaga has every right to comment on whatever she feels like.  If people don't like it then that's their problem, not hers.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

My dad works at the hospital right above the center that got shot. I was so scared something happened because he wouldn't respond but he's safe. Crazy how close this is to home.

Gaga is not superwoman or this all-knowing perfect deity. Nit-picking this non-controversial statement is so ridiculous. Expecting her, a fairly young woman whose primary occupation is a musician/actress to be so well versed in everything political and have a heavily nuanced opinion on all current events is being unrealistic. You're setting yourself up to get disappointed if you think otherwise. She's not a talking head pundit on CNN.

I'm sorry but.. :rip:

I mean, I already said in that post you quoted that I had changed my mind about the way I presented my opinion, so I don't see why I should reply to this again when I have already discussed this for 6 pages. Just read a bit and then quote my final statements if you care about the subject, this is just ridiculous and I don't appreciate the personal insult at the top either. We were talking about important issues here.

I see the typical haters are out in full force. Why can't y'all just vanish from the site? What are YOU doing to help the situation? Not a dang thing except sitting on a pop forum with your jocks in a wad complaining over a freaking tweet. Ridiculous.

You don't get it. Gaga is an activist so she should tweet about every person who dies. If she misses someone, then she a heartless, selective b---h.

/sarcasm

I get that these comments pop up, but seriously, that's not what this thread is about and if you bothered to make an effort to read everything you'd see that this is/was more than about some shallow complaining about one tweet. It's been a very interesting productive discussion, so there's no reason to ruin it with this downtalking.

And I don't care how much sarcasm you use, that is NOT what I said and I repeated that multiple times. Like you guys aren't making yourself look like anything more than assholes either for making these arrogant statements when you're not even trying to understand sh-t that's been written here.

And @ajhuffman219 you don't know sh-t about me and what I do. Remember that.
