Head Empty 25,271 Posted December 2, 2015 Share Posted December 2, 2015 Jason Paige's "Gotta Catch 'em All", otherwise known as the English theme song for the first season of Pokémon, has conquered a spot on the infamous Top 2000 by Radio 2 in the Netherlands. This listing is a yearly, nationally discussed event where the population can vote for their all-time favorite songs, which will eventually be aired during holiday season. The exact position in the chart will be announced in about two weeks, when the entire list is revealed. It took some effort to get this song into the list. It started with a single listener who took the initiative to create a Facebook page called "Get Pokémon into the Top 2000", in order to rally some voters. The page quickly gained over 50,000 RSVP's, leading to the current truimph . The Facebook page also reached national media coverage for its fast gaining of followers and seemingly ludicrous premise. The #1 spot of the list is usually dominated by either Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' or The Eagles' 'Hotel California', but this year it has been topped by John Lennon's Imagine - arguably as a result of the events that occured in Paris. Lady Gaga has been on the list for the past years as well, and this year is no different.
