She's made herself a part of the commercial music machine and a part of that, for better or for worse, is somewhat regular releases being expected from you. That being said I don't think 3 years is a long time to wait but once you start thinking up numbers like 10 years or whatever I don't think she'd be doing her job right as a commercial pop star brand anymore. Just because she has created herself as a commercial pop star doesn't mean she can't opt out though. That brand isn't something she has to be stuck to for her entire life. The girl doesn't have to release another album or go on another tour in her life if she doesn't want to. She doesn't owe anyone anything and she never has, I'm sure she will release an album next year and that's all great and exciting but I'm not going to be upset at her if she doesn't. If it takes her 10 years to release another album, you're right, she wouldn't be doing her job right as a commercial pop star brand anymore. I just don't see that as something to get upset over. I'm just grateful for the music, videos and performances that we do get. Obviously, as a fan, there is a lot of stuff I'd love for her to release and I'd love for her to release new stuff regularly. It's just that I don't expect anything more than what she chooses to release. At the end of her day it's her life, and if she doesn't feel like making music or she doesn't want the pressure of releasing an album or she doesn't want to embark on 1-2 years of promotion and tours supporting an album then that's her choice. I don't think I was entirely clear then, this thread was made under the assumption that LG will remain a fixture in the pop world like she is today and is planning to release a follow up to ARTPOP. I totally get why people could get upset or annoyed if Gaga didn't release, people have those expectations and Gaga is definitely partly responsible for creating such expectations. Especially when she talks about how she feels like her fans want to kill her for not releasing new music and that sort of thing. It's also not unreasonable to think that Gaga would want to continue to be a huge popstar and release pop albums. I'm just personally cautious of expecting anything because I don't know if I would be able to keep up with the sort of pressure Gaga has. The sentiments she has expressed during the ARTPOP era, C2C era and during the emotion revolution also makes me think that sometimes she feels a little trapped within this commercial bubble. Also considering she is engaged and will be married at some point and would want to start a family, I wouldn't want to expect her to keep working and releasing stuff while putting her own personal life on hold. Gaga never said when in 2016 she will release new music. Even the year could change, depending on timing and many other circumstances that could arise.
