Like, if they had spent more time figuring out the connections and twists I think it would've been better. I feel kind of blue-balled tbh. There was a lot going for this twist. It had a lot of potential. It's just kind of...forced and some loopholes were ignored. I still think we should wait the whole season to be aired... I mean it's not like MH or even Asylum were easy to understand mid season (at the first watch). Those two seasons were great but even better when you watch it once again knowing what happened at the end. It's easier to understand. A lot people think Hotel is messy, but in a sense Murder was messy too, maybe even messier... It's often far-fetched when it comes to ghosts and spiritual things.. They decided to return to that style... Honestly Hotel is more similiar to MH and Asylum than it is to Coven and Freakshow.

They decided to return to that style... Honestly Hotel is more similiar to MH and Asylum than it is to Coven and Freakshow. Murder House had a good, constantly-driven plot. There weren't plots to forget because others were going on (AKA there were no plots thrown to the wayside). The characters were well-developed and the twists were hinted at throughout the series or at least seemed very logical when they were revealed. Asylum had a constant driving force behind it, which I really liked. There were no loose-ends. Yes, there were occasional side trips (Anne Franke being one of them, I think). It was a bit odd to have aliens, mutants, and demons all in one season, but I think they made it work. Asylum was by far my favorite. Coven had issues with repetition. There was a constant series of obstacles which were quickly resolved by the end of each episode. There didn't seem to be an over-arching issue, except finding out who the Supreme was. I was a little disappointed in Coven, though I think its campy-nature saved it a bit. Freak Show...I didn't even continue after the first few episodes. I need to watch it on Netflix, but I hardly have a strong desire to. Freakshow seemed scattered and aimless right off the bat. I felt like I was constantly watching circles being drawn in the sand and it bored me to death. Hotel is definitely a step in the right direction. It has an interesting plot. However, I think its suffering from having too many plots at once. They're trying to tell so many stories and make so many connections that some have been somewhat lost (like the vampire kids...um...those ****ers are definitely ****ing **** up this far into the game). I like that they were able to connect John, March, Elizabeth, and Sally in a single episode. It was really satisfying. Now, what they do with the vampire kids, Ramona and *insert hot vampire guy's name here*, Elizabeth's baby, Natasha and *insert Italian guy's name here*, the fashion guy and the Countess, the Countess's plans for getting the money, John's wife becoming the new vamp nanny, ... See what I mean? They don't have that much time to wrap everything up. Perhaps the mini AHS series in the spring will tie up the loose ends (which I wouldn't mind, actually). However, a lot still has to happen with such a limited amount of time. Sorry for typing so much.
Prometheus 1,494
I still fail to see how this is a dark season. Yeah, there's lot of s-x and death and loss, but...I fail to see how this is as dark as Asylum.

I guess we'll get a lot answers for the plots you quoted (especially in the next two episodes). Actually I'd like Scream Queens to be cancelled for Ryan Murphy to get less work next year and to focus more on AHS season 6. And I still hope Jessica Lange will return. The cast is doing good on Hotel, but there's definitely something missing without her...

So that's, what, three things Ryan is doing? I love Gaga, don't get me wrong, but sometimes she just acts so...emotionless, and on occasion she says things in a weird way. I don't expect her to be flawless by any means and I know she's doing really well for this being her first big part. I just...yeah...it's broken without Jessica. Concerning Gaga I think it's her character, when you see the Countess in flashback she's so full of life, a lot of emotions in her flashback scenes in episode 7 ! Actually my guess is the fact she became cruel and emotionless since she has been infected. But yeah I know what you mean, I pretty sure it would have been better if Jessica Lange would have been here. She's such an exceptional actress, she owned AHS. Let's hope Ryan will achieve to bring her back full time next season (and a cameo in Hotel ?). I'd like Gaga to return next year too, but in a very different role this time. I'm actually hoping for the opposite and that he gives the AHS reins to Tim Minear who I think is by far a better writer than Ryan Murphy. Ryan is good at coming up with an overall concept, but not good at carrying out and dealing with the complexities of said idea.

Tim Minear is great, but do you really think Ryan Murphy would give reins to someone else ? I agree with the fact Ryan is sometimes messy in developping ideas... We'll see what happen next year..; I hope some former cast members will be back too (Jessica Lange, Frances Conroy, Lily Rabe, Dylan McDermott)
Creyk 17,019
Why was there so little Gaga in this episode? She was literally on screen for 2,5 minutes

To be honest, I think it has a lot to do with the ugliness + boringness of the detective's storyline Like what were they thinking when they included that

I wouldn't be surprised if he's not back next season. On the contrary I've seen a lot of great reviews from AHS fans concerning Gaga's acting. Even if most of them want Jessica Lange back, they wouldn't be against having Gaga on more season. I guess it's a great point knowing most of AHS fans were not so keen having her in Hotel before it started.
