Well I think racism comes to play here

How come?

Anyway, what I meant is that you have to bring something new to the market so the public won't get bored of you. For example, when Paulina Rubio tried to crossover in the US, it didn't go very well because the US market already had a blonde Latina trying to have an international career with singing in English, and that was Shakira.

Because Asians are generally found to be least marketable

Example:If you ask someone if they would date someone of another race, Asians would most likely be the last

I thought this thread was about music :flop: so don't go there.

"Least marketable" can apply to any artist no matter where they come from. It's all about promotion and how you market yourself. If that applies to Asian artists only, then that suggests that everyone in the US/UK or anyone who sings in English is a successful famous artists, which is completely wrong, obviously.

Believe me  many Asian acts who are very fluent in English have tried to get record deals in US

But they get turned down simply because of their race

But it just dosent 'click' I guess

I guess Priyanka ( chopra ) did try hard ?

And she did get the attention in India, but it didn't quiet break through there.

you just wait for my non existent singing career to break the industry :green:

but seriously, i think its because of lack of appeal, interest and exposure or they're mostly  under-managed

Everybody explains it very deeply. But my opinion is that K-POP, and J-POP have simply inferior quality compared to the current US Pop market from conventional perspective. (Beats Quality, Melodies, Charisma etc etc )

Asia =/=Korea and Japan

Asian music =/= K-Pop/J-Pop

Besides do you see latin acts like JLo, Shakira singing Spanish songs to the English audiences

What do you mean by asian acts then if it is not K-POP/J-POP ? Asian American singers ?

Traditional Chinese music ? Japanese Metal ?

And also Jennifer Lopez cannot exactly be considered as a latin act. She is from NYC... Her origin can be latin, but she grew up in american culture.

And Shakira is singing spanish songs in most parts of the world... Shakira has more significant presence in the world than she has in US. So her preference of english songs over spanish songs in US is a marketing choice like Celine Dion. She is more like an international star who became famous in US. It is not like she started off with english songs, and became famous in the states first.
