If you raise a point or an opinion, you have to expect people to reply. It's called a discussion for a reason. and yes, it's your freedom of speech to say whatever you want, but just because you can say what you want doesn't mean you should. I never said you're not allowed to discuss what you want.

I want to see the face of another person, when I walk on the street. I would fully support a full face veil ban in Germany, like in Spain, Belgium, The Netherlands, France and also parts of Switzerland. Hijabs are okay for me, because you can actually see and recognise a face. but you're not entitled to see other peoples faces? why do you find it offensive? Do you find gay people showing affection in public offensive, too?

Morphine Prince 109,663
This is so disgusting And some of the people in here... I see women wearing Niqabs at my university sometimes (not a lot) and nothing has happened. Just take it as a fashion choice. Some of you are saying "I'm ok with hijabs" .... they don't do it to please you nor should they dress to please you. If that's part of their culture and they aren't doing anything wrong and it's not physically hurting anyone then why the hell should you care? Western nations like to preach about personal freedom yet they ban clothing lmao. Although I'm not surprised it's banned in European nations.

If I am in public I want to SEE the face of my fellow citizens. I want to see at least their FACIAL EXPRESSION. I personally feel UNSAFE and UNWELL when I see Muslim in niqab and burka. I live in a society and culture, where it is absolutely not common to wear full face veils and where it is also seen as UNKIND to not show your full face to other people in public. Once again: I have absolutely no problem with wearing a hijab - where you can actually see the face - but a niqab as well as a burka are nothing I want to see in public. We had the discussion about "pro and contra the ban of full face veils" several times before on this board and it always ended in a chain saw massacre... If women were forced (by culture, by religion, by siblings or elders) to only wear short shorts, that would be slavery and morally wrong, you're not giving women the right to wear something, you're inciting them to do so to appease some ideology. You would have to say the same thing about men, dressing as Bin Laden and having a heavy bushy beard should be morally acceptable to you? And we'd have to fight for equality for them too? It is not you who decides if she is forced to wear it or not! many women choose to wear it weather you think they are brainwashed to or not.. you can say the same thing about western women being pressured to be s-xy and wear revealing outfits. Many women in Texas or Mississippi are forced by their husband or family to wear certain outfits so should we arrest these women? should we arrest indian women who are forced to wear a Sari? or the Sikh men who are forced to wear a turban from the day they were born? many women are forced to wear hijab so why not be against that too? Also, some are born into a culture of wearing niqab and do not feel comfortable removing it so there is may scenarios for this. And ofcourse having bushy beard like binladin should be accepted and it is! There is no logic in your argument and you cant be against something simply because you dont like it. I as a Muslim do not like niqab but my opinion should not dictate others freedom.

Of course these things are notcommon in Western culture but it's not scary imo.

If such thing happens in another country I'd be okay, an indian woman wearing Sari in India is okay, an afghan woman wearing niqab (burqa) in Afghanistan is okay, but you can't dictate your culture on a foreign country. Furthermore, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, France and other countries chose to ban niqab for a reason, you can't hide behind a blanket, refuse policemen to verify your identity because "men can't touch women in your culture" and force these countries to change their laws to adapt to you, you have to assimilate to the territory you're in, or leave it. And it's not a big demand if you ask a person to permenantly show their face, it's not like you're asking them to permanently show their privates so I don't see why you get tickled about this subject. Look at Saudi Arabia or Iran, they do worse, they force women to wear veil if they step foot in their country. I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time. I am not saying that western laws should adapt to other cultures and if a woman is asked to show her face, she should show it. Women who wear niqab dont mind doing that though.. in Saudi Arabia, women show their face to male security and police and their passport must show their face and when they visit Mecca, women are forbidden to cover their face. The problem is when you do not allow them to wear niqab in situations where they should be allowed to. What about the big population of sikhs in the UK who cant remove their turban? what do you want to do with them? Yes I cant dictate my culture on a foreign country but I can dictate my culture on myself while im in a foreign country just like how western women wear short shorts in islamic gulf countries everywhere. Saudi Arabia and Iran are exceptions and they are wrong although only American women in Saudi and Iran are allowed to not wear a veil and these countries did not claim to be free countries. What your talking about is fascism and you dont mind it because your ideas matches your fascist laws. True freedom is to give the other freedom to do whatever they want aslong as they dont force or interfere with you.

It's not fascism, we aren't asking women to wear short shorts, we're asking them to show their face. They can practice their cult elsewhere. If that's the case, you should ask muslim countries to accept people kissing in public places and wearing short shorts and homos-xuality etc. Why always Western countries should adapt to others and not the other way around??? You cant say that you dont want your country to look a certain way as an excuse for fascism.. I understand what your saying but that is fascism and dictatorship. If you dont want other cultures, then stop talking about diversity and accepting immigrants and then complain! when you welcome other cultures from all over the world, logically this is what will happen. Saudi Arabia for example hates diversity so the logical thing to do is be a fascist country that is against freedom and not allow tourism and immigrants. Also, the pictures you use are not how reality is in Europe. Texas and conservative states in the US culture is against women wearing leggings and tank tops so is wearing leggings forcing your culture and so women with leggings should be arrested in texas? what about all the indians in europe? what about all the westerns that live in islamic countries adn wear whatever they want? and what about arabs who wear t s--ts and shorts in their country? your moral arguments should be universal and consistent. Same speech as people who faught for Burqa in 2009 against Sarkozy This is not gonna happen in Europe, we aren't gonna adapt our laws to every possible culture just because we aren't against immigration, immigrants should adapt if they want to live here. You can't tell me my country is fascist because we don't accept burqa. Go tell muslim countries to accept women wearing short shorts on the outside and people kissing and homos-xuality. Im not talking about sharia law.. im talking about a woman's freedom to wear niqab without asking for sharia law. I never asked for your laws to adapt, im just asking for you to practice your actual laws and freedom. Yes I can tell you your country is fascist because by definition it is and yes muslim countries are also fascist but atleast they dont pretend to be otherwise. You have a irrational invalid opinion that you cant make an argument for and want it to dictate others and thats why we will end this conversation and wont agree.
