Morphine Prince 109,976
Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley rejected the possibility of allowing Syrian refugees into his state, and connected refugees with potential terror threats. "After full consideration of this weekend's attacks of terror on innocent citizens in Paris, I will oppose any attempt to relocate Syrian refugees to Alabama through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program," Bentley said Sunday in a statement. "As your Governor, I will not stand complicit to a policy that places the citizens of Alabama in harm's way." Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder was more conciliatory in his language, but still resisted receiving Syrian refugees. He said the state would "put on hold our efforts to accept new refugees." "Michigan is a welcoming state and we are proud of our rich history of immigration. But our first priority is protecting the safety of our residents," he said in a statement. Although I think these states in the US or countries in Europe which are known for having many racists and xenophobes didn't want to take any refugees anyway and now they're just using this tragedy for further fear mongering. MonsterJay 1,563
We were discussing the Syrian refugee's in my psychology class today when this popped up. Im spit with the decision but after seeing what's been happening, im leaning more towards being safe than sorry. I feel bad for the innocent people with good intentions but it's like they say one bad apple ruins the batch.
