I don't think I need to repeat myself more often? It's simply. Take money from the rich, allow refugees in there because they need it, help them and give them the chance to stay. A huge % of them would leave for Syria anyway when it's in peace again. I didn't say that. Don't put words in my mouth. The US allows refugees and economic immigrants in AND we give them and their children and their children's children citizenship. They don't just have a chance to stay, they have a right to stay. Maybe Germany is the country in need of immigration reform. Looks like they have millions of legally admitted immigrants that they won't grant citizenship to and won't even allow many to work. Most of these immigrants come from extreme poverty and need immediate services just like refugees. The US takes in refugees, as well, and unlike Germany...they become citizens and are able to work any children they have become automatic citizens. The US takes in the economic refugees from their area of the world, while still taking in immigrants and refugees from other areas of the world. The Syrian refugees were safe in Turkey and other areas, so they are essentially economic refugees coming to Germany. They are looking for a better life than living in poverty, which is the same situation that the US has with the majority of the documented and undocumented immigrants coming from Central America. Immigrants who are also fleeing from violence in their country. The issue is that every country in the West is already having undocumented immigrants or economic immigrants anyways. The problem you are talking about is also happening all over Europe it's not new and actually one of the main worry with opening EU to western european countries was the increase in workers that would accept lower wages. I don't know regarding about what you say about citizenship in Germany, but in France we have "droit du sol" which means anyone born in France can acquire citizenship very easily. It seems that people portrays the US having such a unique case but open your eyes this phenomenon isn't new and it's in most developed country. Plus Europe as a lot of borders with "poor" countries, it's a lot easier to come for them. I don't say you don't get anyone but of course you won't get Syrian refugees like we do. It's not a normal situation but an emergency, a crisis and that's why we should all contribute. It's not about who is having the least immigrants, but the fact that no one can take ALL of them so we should split it as it's a lot easier for everyone. Sure most European countries have more socialist government but it doesn't mean we are eating gold either and we can throw money at everyone coming to live there. Taking immigrants or refugees ia serious matter because even if they are educated you still have the language barrier, culture and such... I don't see why Europe should be the one handling it, especially knowing that countries like Canada needs immigration... Once again: Up to 1.500.000 refugees/asylum seekers in Germany in one year! What about the USA? Procedure for granting the right of asylum: At the end of December 2014 there have been 170.000 procedures undecided. What about the USA? Moreover there have been 41.000 people under obligation to depart in December 2014 (former asylum seekers). What about the USA? Around 154.000 with exceptional leave to remain for humanitarian reasons stayed in Germany at the end of 2014 (former asylum seekers). What about the USA? Illegal immigration: The Government estimates between 500.000 and 900.000 illegal immigrants in Germany at the end of 2014. You said, there would be living about 12.000.000 illegal immigrants in the USA. Calculation base: Germany: 2.765.000 (regugees/asylum seekers/illegal immigrants) × 100 ÷ 82.000.000 (inhabitants) = 3,37 % USA: 12.000.000 (illegal immigrants) x 100 ÷ 318.000.000 (inhabitants) = 3, 77 % Result: #STFU + #SimpleBrainFail on your part Don't ****in' b---h about Germany if you have actually no clue what you are talking about. I heavily criticized several policies and situations in the US over the past couple of years...from racism to gun laws to equal pay to rape laws to immigration policies, including the many views of conservatives in the country. When Grrmany is accepting refugees and immigrants with full citizenship and all the benefits that come with that privilege, and even giving full citizenship to the children of non-citizens, then the two situations can be comparable. Taking immigrants or refugees ia serious matter because even if they are educated you still have the language barrier, culture and such... I don't see why Europe should be the one handling it, especially knowing that countries like Canada needs immigration... Yes, it is a serious matter and that's why the US and Canada both take in immigrants and refugees. Yes, the language barrier is there, but in the US immigrants and refugees are not forced to learn English. Why does Canada need immigration? I'm confused about what you mean with that statement. Yes, there are many emergencies around the world at any given time...and some that are constant. There are millions upon millions of children who are starving and who don't have clean water to drink. The US borders Central America, an area that has several countries on the list of the poorest and most dangerous countries in the world. It has been that way for decades and that's why the US gets so many immigrants from the countries in that area. The US does take about one to three years to clear immigrants and refugees, since they are taken in with full intention to receive permanent citizenship and since they have the birthright law, which isn't a probably situation, but an automatic one. On many other sites as well. People who were racist towards them before are just repeating "I told you so", when those people had nothing to do with it. Replying to you both, from days ago I know, but I've been busy and not checking up on here. This situation is going to become oddly similar to the St. Louis during the Holocaust...it will be so sad because IS wants Islamophobia. If the Holocaust can serve as any sort of example on how refugees en masse have been handled, refugees need to be taken in, not turned back to their deaths. These refugees are going to be treated as the villains despite being the victims...so unfortunate :/

If any country should take refugees, it should be some countries that are closer to them in religion, mentality, culture and language. So that the cultural shock isn't hard neither for the refugees nor for the territory inhabitants. Please seem to miss the fact that ISIS is located in many of those countries, so obviously refugees want to get out of the middle east. To them, culture shock is the last thing on their minds. I agree, taking refugees is not an obligation, but is morally right, and if a country has the resources and space (which many middle eastern countries do not), then I don't see the problem in taking refugees when you have a harsh screening system (like the U.S. does).
