I just don't know if it would be gagas thing to confine herself to one specific genre or time period of music. I think there could be some influences, but I really don't believe she'd make a whole album that sounded like I Want Your Love.

back to OP, no i think her being secretive is a great thing because even though people are hyped about it and know nothing about it will make it awesome when its released because it will hit us like a train with a new perspective of Gaga's music!!

The songs the public like are literally all over the place right now. The public don't even seem to know what they want at the moment. Maybe that's why we're hearing more risks from artists because things are so unpredictable that a shot in the dark could work out. Gaga's been so secretive about this new album, which is very unusual for her and we know nothing for once, therefore, there's no point getting worried. If she was hyping it to high heaven, we'd have high expectations anyway. Whatever happens, we'll have high expectations. I've learned not to be as stressed out after AP. Don't expect anything and you'll be more likely to be impressed. Expect everything and you'll be more likely to be unimpressed. Whatever exists in your imagination is always better than anything in reality anyway.

But for what it's worth...yeah, no disco please, especially not from Moroder. Hated that song devoted to him on Daft Punk's album and his solo project recently was dire and dated. The majority of disco is so bland, something Gaga can't be right now.

As far as we know for LG5 she is collaborating with giorgio moroder and nile rodgers aka the disco queens. She released a disco song for tom ford's campaign so it's very possible to release a disco album as well.

Daft punk released random access memories 2 years ago and their album was a big success (get lucky smashed) so do you think gaga will follow an outdated trend again instead of serving a fresh one?

Are you kidding? RAM is still fresh and their sound is hardly a 'trend'.

The only reason ARTPOP was outdated was because she took 50 years to put it out. LG5 seems to be coming quick.

Wait till its released before you make outlandish claims with no evidence backing you up. She releases a cover for a campaign and piano ballad. 

 

Gaga has been doing disco, house, pop, dance and glam her whole career... if anything she is being true to herself. 

 

BUT the more important fact is that we haven't heard a lick of LG5. So keep these thoughts for later Kkk?

I think she'll put her own twist on it so it doesn't sound like the typical songs of whichever genre she's working in, or at least not majority of the songs of the album anyway

No, this is a simplification of what happened to begin with. EDM never went away, it's bigger this year than ever (see Bieber and the ever-growing EDM festivals).

The ARTPOP songs that sounded dated to varying degrees upon release were either following specific pop trends from 2012 (like the title track being a direct copy of "Love You Like a Love Song"), or they were following the 2008-2011 Gaga formula of dirty, loud dance-pop with retro elements (G.U.Y., Venus, Sexxx Dreams etc). DWUW sounded fresh because it was a more minimalistic, stripped and crisp mid-tempo, which was very much the trend in late 2013-2014.

You can revive any genre in any year and make it sound fresh if you have the right producers. I'm confident that with this album she'll be collaborating with the right people and going in a more creative, less formulaic direction.
