It's part of the reason Dope is probably my favorite song of hers Where are you getting that Gaga emoticon? I don't have any in my emoticon list. :rip: I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas.

They see wigs and lipstick and they shut down because the wigs and lipstick aren't "pretty enough" or good enough or marketable enough and those fans think they know better than gaga. lol shut up. maybe they just dont like it. kiss kiss

2007 5,291
3:50 I think that's the deepest voice I've heard gaga hit. She sounded like Cher or something. I LOVE IT!
Chump 1,093
I like her rock vocals more (Another One Bites The Dust, Whole Lotta Love) and that "I Wish" vocals very much. Songs like TIHTY don't fit her voice. Even though it's extremaly versatile
Future Lover 2,588
I don't really like them to be honest. They're great when showing off her vocal ability, but they usually come off as being try hard when she does it in the weirdest of moments. That's just my opinion though. Harry 26,836
it's not even her low notes, she's used her low range and sounded fine before. she just puts on this really strange accent. i hope it's not on the next album. dope was enough lol. mee 381
I love it, she also used it on some C2C songs ( Firefly, I Can't Give You Anything But Love) or verses Highway Unicorn. And she also used it in some early performances like Dancing With The Stars when she sung Just Dance or LoveGame on Ellen. But it was and is all not opera-like, also IWYL, it's also not opera-like, just deep. Please more songs with such vocals Dope, Imagine ( in Baku ) and TIHTY were sung deep by her and that was opera-like, i like it also very much. Himeros26 1,688
Gaga has never publicly sang or performed Opera before. But yes, I love her dark and theatrical tones.
gagzus 15,831
i love it because it's her natural voice, no autotune etc and she's so theatrical

This exactly. I don't care for this rough theatrical stylization when she uses it for her ballads. Someone here said she sounded like female Meatloaf on those ballads and I just cannot unhear this comparison now, lol. At times I feel like she's straining and vocal frying her voice, and it just makes it all seem so effortful in a tiresome way. It doesn't feel organic, it feels as if she's forcing this sort of emotion instead of letting it happen on its own. The result is often a sludge to get through and I feel this big theatrical stylization ends up overshadowing everything in what was probably meant to be an honest and intimate lyrical affair. I think she means to add a sense of rawness (like in the "hold your head up!"shouty belts in TiHTY), but IDK...I just don't think a song of that type needs even more embellishment, you know? I Want Your Love's theatrical ticks were mostly nearly unnoticeable to me at first until the very end when she's all "I vant...your love," but I thought the vague euro accent and and all-in deeper, robust vocals at times added to the bombastic, dancefloor, party-in-Ibiza quality of the song. She also briefly reaches into her deeper register during the belts in DWUW and it also works wonderfully there.
