I heard this saying that Black woman have to be twice as good to get half as much. Is it true

What if a white pop girl came out with this performance

I think she's one of the best performers of this generation but doesn't get enough praise for it imo

Am I the only one who thinks that people treat black artists pretty fairly in the music industry? I see many successful black artists, I don't think there's much discrimination towards them.

Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Drake, Kanye West...

I didn't mean that they weren't successful, I mean I feel like they get pushed down and to the side when they have a higher skill set but receive less praise for it than other white artists.

Like most of the artists you listed get dragged a lot e.g. Beyonce, Kanye, Drake, Nicki,

No, she wouldn't. Beyoncé is Beyoncé and has worked hard to be where she is, and that's why everyone knows who she is, she has kind of earned a name for herself since the 90s like MJ has done since the 60s, and the only white woman (Even tho I call ha Italian) I know who can run in heels is Gaga, slay mama.

I agree but what i'm saying is that I don't think she receives the recognition that she potentially could have if there wasn't bias towards her.

White artists get dragged often too

Iggy Azalea, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber all receive tremendous hate from certain groups of people.

She doesn't get enough praise? Bye.

She's hands down one of the most successful singers of our time. If anything, I think she'll be just another ~singer~ if she was white.

My point was that anyone regardless of their race gets dragged for some reason. Black people are not the only people suffering from this.

Taylor, Gaga, Justin all have skills and talent too but they still receive hatred.

Beyonce gets more respect and more awards because she's black. Most music critics are liberal or progressive, who are afraid they'll be called racist if they trash a black icon. They are much less inhibited about trashing Katy or Gaga.

Being black puts her in the less competitive R&B category, but if Bey was white she'd be in pop category at Grammies (see Adele). Thus it's been much easier for her to win than pure pop acts like Madonna and Katy

On the other hand, she'd probably sell more to white girls in Middle America if she was white, and Bill O'Reilly wouldn't have been as nasty about her being s-xual..
