The thing about him is that he's very much in his own lane. He did everything he did completely by himself. He's not a record label groomed celebrity at all.

He doesn't rely on the industry circle jerk the way that most singers/ producers do to get ahead.

Because of that he's had almost complete freedom to say what he wants without any real consequences.

He's already made his fortune. Do you think he's really worried about being at the top like most of these people are? 

I'm not condoning what he says but I do enjoy his blunt and honest perspectives about things. It's these celebs own fault for taking what he says to heart and trying to get into it with him. I've seen time and time again that he does it to show people exactly what kind of characters these artists are while they pander to the public. That's not to say Skrillex is, but I've seen him bring down other artists several notches because they couldn't keep their cool. 

The thing about him (I more than welcome anyone to give me evidence otherwise, this is just my own observations) He doesn't ever say anything to personally insult people. All I've seen him doing is dragging people's lack of self awareness. 

I honestly have no idea why I'm so passionate about this topic, I'm not even a fan of his but I genuinely think he's not as harmful as people think he is.
