Didymus 34,379
I don't know, I think ARTPOP is always gonna fall short exactly because of its position in music: it's not pop enough to be seen as a pop classic but it's not experimental enough to be counted among the EDM nostalgia classics in future decades. That was the problem in 2013 and it's gonna still be the problem in the future imo. I do think Applause will, however, stand the test of time precisely because it succeeds as a pop song.
PartySick 159,823
ARTPOP may not have an impact on Pop culture musically but the idea of bringing Art into Pop was something interesting, and i can already see some artists being inspired by it.Miley is clearly the first person who comes into my mind.Rihanna's ANTi ,and now Katy   Miley was an open ARTPOP lover  she even said that her VMA's hosting would be influenced by it, I believe. It's obvious that she likes it and doesn't hide it 🌸Flourishing and vibrant🌼
Bambino 24,266
It's said that Katy Perry wants to be all creative and artistic, so maybe ARTPOP had some impact after all.

Brooke Candy 3,970
Let's be real, this fanbase will always hate ARTPOP.No? I've always loved ARTPOP. It's a true masterpiece. buy 'Paper or Plastic' by Brooke candy on iTunes NOW!!
Benji 20,113
I'm not talking about the fans, I'm talking about the GP. Let's be real, this fanbase will always hate ARTPOP. Why would they like ARTPOP though? The Fame and The Fame Monster are both pop perfection that perfectly take a snapshot of their eras and more, Born This Way goes against the grain spectacularly but.... ARTPOP is what? Half mediocre, half good but nothing spectacular? I don't think anyone is going to go "Wow, this average album on release is now a masterpiece despite lacking anything memorable! It sounds like a random assortment of Pop-EDM filler songs, like a greatest hits but not being great! I love it!"

Like, d--gs aside, that album is so amazing I just hope Katy's artistic expedition is as fulfilling as Gaga's could've been if it weren't for "the biz" screwing her over. Same with any one else's 🌸Flourishing and vibrant🌼

Snow 1,582
Pfff. Come on. ARTPOP did not sound experimental at all to 2013 listeners (in fact it hopped on to an already dying trend at that point - no one's doing EDM anymore so there you go) and its visual aspect was the antithesis of experimentation, mainly due to Gaga being opposed by MTV and her own team members. All the rest that seems like impact has been done time and time before by (pop) artists before this album, which Gaga explicitly and literally said herself.Stop trying to make it happen, it shouldn't matter.amen! Sick and tired of ppl thinking this "album" or era had any impact on ANYthing. NOR that it was something New or innovative.. Pretencious wannabe artsy fartsy hot mess of dated and generic four chord pop tunes and poorly used pics of other ppls art.  I will loath that era forever. Just let this mess rest in peace and bring on lg5 :)Yes, I am a out & proud ARTPOP era hater. Sorrynotsorry

Like a Prayer was called art and pop while the who 90s showed her artistic growth. I Only Stan For Risk Takers
