Since when does being personally against the concept of gay marriage equal "not supporting homos-xuals"? Not only that, but of course there's tons of political figures that were for gay marriage before Hilary. The difference between supporting Hilary Clinton and supporting Bernie Sanders is the difference between supporting someone who has a definite chance of getting the democratic nomination and someone who has 0% of winning any presidential election ever. 

Polls have shown that Bernie fares well against potential Republican matchups in the general election. 

I'd also remind you that, in his last senatorial election in VT, he won with over 70% of the popular vote. He also got about 25% of the Republican vote. 

He doesn't just appeal to far left dems. He appeals to people who want a genuine candidate who has a record of advocacy and honesty.
