I can't at you though. I literally wrote in my post (and I already had to repeat it) that she didn't say anything but that I interpreted it as such because her album concept changed so rapidly and her explanation for it was just unbelievable to me, especially since she's still planning an acoustic album, as evidenced by interviews in both 2014 and 2015. So that means she's been planning an acoustic album for about four years now. Quite consistent to me, even if my theory about PRISM is wrong.

And that last paragraph I actually 100% agree with, but you know that, since I said the exact same thing in the post you quoted initially, though you left that part out.

I see where she was planning an acoustic album for number four. Where did she say that Prism was going to be acoustic. (Or for four years) Was it that she wanted to do it one day or was it specifically planned for her third album. Do you have where she said this? 

I'm looking for if she said that Prism was going to be acoustic and if she said she was going to use a different main director. She always uses several different directors, so I'm wondering if she was really trying to get away from Dr. Luke. Is this the part that is speculation?

I really think that PRISM is a compromise between what she originally wanted and what her label wanted (and since Dr. Luke did the first half which is definitely the farthest away from how Katy described her next album in 2012, I'm guessing he had some creative control too, as he always seems to have), the only thing surviving being the acoustic feel on PRISM's second half and the more emotional lyrics on that same second half, a division many critics noted.

"Yesterday (1st March) Katy admitted she feels ready to "close the chapter" on 'Teenage Dream' and move on to a new era of her music career."

This just has to correspond to Katy wanting to release that "****ing dark" album, using the dark teasers of Katy burning her wig (which she basically then ended up re-using for PRISM lmao).

And basically she's saying the same thing in 2014 again about a next era and an acoustic feel. To me it feels like PRISM was just a step Katy didn't really wanna take but had to.

I don't think she will be able to have a Joni Mitchell type album with a major label, even if that's what she wants to do with number four. That might have to be a side release, like Pink did recently, or it will be a release after her label deal is done. There is too much money tied up in Katy and the label relies on money from her singles and albums. 

I don't know what "creative and artistic" means with Katy, but I doubt she is going to stray too far from the formula Dr. Luke, Bonnie and her label have created.

Why hasn't any of you mentioned also the fact that Rihanna has had an app called BBHMM available on the Play Store for over a month... And the whole ANTI artwork inspiration and creation etc. It is simply impossible not to compare to ARTPOP. It is not a bad thing at the end of the day though. If the ARTPOP era and Gaga ever get credited for ringing a bell in the industry that artistic integrity and freedom have been neglected for a long time in the pop industry for the sake of the corporations' profits...

Back to Katy,

I stopped caring about Perry after PRISM and the whole Gaga v. her mess but reading this thread made me feel sad about her. Give her a break! I mean, I know most of you hold the grudge from the 2013 rivalry that was made up and now it's a good time to answer back the humiliation that our fan base was put under. But answering back with the same tools? Let's think about it that way - we know how Gaga was fed up with being the cash cow she was during TF/TFM/BTW and ARTPOP wasn't going to be any different if she hadn't turned the whole thing from "a celebration of obsession/passion, bringing art to the soup can, etc." into a rant about creative freedom. Well judging by all these news lately, maybe Perry is in the same situation (and Rihanna and Kesha and... ). It is not possible to prove that exactly ARTPOP was the trigger of this movement in the industry but let's assume it is, I just don't understand why would you complain about it - if we end up getting better music, that doesn't follow the overplayed formula, and artists - succeeding in having their visions of their art released to us. It is a win-win situation. (AND I hope it will give some of you a reason to appreciate the jewel that AP is, cause it is finally making an impact, a "flop" could never,  even Gaga herself has said that the importance of the record will be realised at a later stage.)

Well, earlier this year she said that she wanted to do an acoustic album with a lot more urgency.

"The next record does have to be different. I think that I'm gonna really have to reroute" (Elle Magazine, 2015)

So she's basically saying the same thing again, 'cause she explicitly mentioned PRISM's electronic sound (whereas she did the same with TD in 2012) and how she always wanted to make two types of records: acoustic ones with alternative influences and dance ones and how the last two ones were "so pop heavy".

I get where you're coming from though and it's perfectly realistic. But still I hope Katy gets to make her acoustic record 'cause I think something great can come out of it.

Gaga is the definition of fashion chameleon, both on stage and on the street, airports, wherever she is. She doesn't wear granny jumpers and stuff head into pillow to avoid paparazzi on airports like some others.  

 

Oh no I didnt mean that. Flop me. I just said that yes Katy changes her look quite alot too, at least compared to usual. I Def did not mean that her looks or whatever are better than Gaga. Just different approach to versitile fashion. :)

Gaga has more costume type approach to her look and changes it constantly. She is more haute couture type and Katy is pret a porte. So what is fashion sence? It can be both, though I prefer more out there styles myself.(Though I think The nugget costumes was a miss haha :D) But yeah, I was just using extreme examples.

In that sence, Katy is chameleon too, just more mainstream versio.

But I don't see what's wrong with being completely unfashionable at times too. Think of Madonna. She is one of The biggest fashion icons ever wih brilliant sence of style and yet she rarely dresses up(for your love) on "normal days". But Gaga dresses up to walk to a car everyday. The just have different approach again. Both are fine. :)
