Katy Perry wants to experiment with being creative and artistic

I don't get it though, how can anyone not call her a fashion chameleon? Just her latest tour alone shows she is :air:

I mean, there can be several fashion chameleons in pop culture :rip: A typical case of "Gaga has to be the only one doing stuff or otherwise there's no point about stanning for her". This fanbase is so insecure it's embarrassing.

I mean, majority are like this, pretty basic.  And some quite bad.

So idk what are we talking about here? Tour costumes? Catwoman costume? Sunflower dress? Nothing special imo. Maybe every pop girl who changes many times during shows is considered a fashion chameleon.

What chicken nugget costume?

Are you saying Katy has better fashion sense than Gaga?

Gaga is the definition of fashion chameleon, both on stage and on the street, airports, wherever she is. She doesn't wear granny jumpers and stuff head into pillow to avoid paparazzi on airports like some others. :green:

No, he is just saying Gaga wore a chicken nugget costume

They probably mean her music videos/red carpet/"i actually want pics of me taken" looks, not her airport looks :emma: Gaga is an exception there, because she generally bothers there.

The only fashion chameleon is Lady Gaga. The one who has always been interested in art, fashion and experimental pop music. It's tiring seeing her following every Gaga step. No wonder if she does a Jazz album.

Whispering

Like I said here earlier, she already confessed two years ago that she doesn't have complete control over what she can do. She initially didn't wanna do PRISM because she wanted to move away from electronic dance-pop, but we all know how that turned out.

Where did she say this...about the control she has? Do you have a link?

Also, can you provide a link to where she said she initially didn't want to do Prism?

She always says her new music is gonna be different but it is always the same old same thing :later:

(inb4 someone makes a weak point about ARTPOP)

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

why do you hate her? this post is unnecessary. I don't understand the need to be so hateful all the time, especially after everything Lady Gaga has said about kindness, online specifically.

Do you think being an asshole to people on the internet makes you cool? do you feel better about yourself after spewing hate? don't you have ANYTHING better to do? anything at all

I hate her music and not a huge fan of her personality. I think your reply is a little much :rip:   I made a harmless joke about her, since in my eyes, she copies other artists and adjusts her music based on what will get her liked, not by any bit of artistry.  And yes, I said I hate her.  Cause I legitimately don't like her as an artist. And since I don't know her personally, that is all I can base my opinion on :lana:

And yes, I have a very happy, healthy, and action packed life, and I happen to like to come onto GGD for about 20 mins a day and look at the pop news.  I could ask the same thing of you: "don't you have anything better to do than to attack random people on the internet who have an opinion differing your own?"  But I won't, cause I'm not an ass :kissga:

So? Katy was cheetos.

katy-perry-cheeto.jpg

What's the point to single out 1 Gaga outfit and say "that's not fashion", but what Katy wears is?

Ok well I disagree. :coffee:

She never said anything about it, she implied it, like I said.

In 2012 she planned a "real ****ing dark" record that would absolutely be incomparable to Teenage Dream and revealed that she was looking for an acoustic sound and then, after a silent period, the concept changed from dark to light, from acoustic to electronic, from a new producer to Dr. Luke finishing 90% of the album (and thanks to Ke$ha we all know how he has the power to basically decide an entire album concept no matter how much the artist may disagree).

And then she said this:

http://www.theguardian.com/music/2013/oct/01/katy-perry-plans-acoustic-folk-album

Even if I'm wrong and she wasn't planning the Janis Joplin style album in 2012 already, it shows that her experimentation is not in the least inspired by ARTPOP since there is nothing acoustic, folk or Janis Joplin-like about it.

From what I see in the linked article, Katy stated that she wants to "turn into more of a Joni Mitchell" in the second half of her career. She stated in that article that this meant with her fourth studio album, the one after Prism. She said "I think my fourth [studio] record will be more of an acoustic guitar album."

Where did you see where Katy said she was going to do Janis Joplin style album? Did she say she was using a new producer for her "main producer". Dr. Luke ended up doing half the songs, and seven out of seventeen if you look at the delux album.

i think Katy is like the majority of artists putting out records. Just like Gaga, what you say one month or one year, can change the next month and year. As the album progresses, things change along the way. And with every artist, including everyone from Adele to Gaga to Katy, the label has their say along the way. Every artists signed to a major has to please their label.

Same Katy discussions from the same people. You guys will never agree. Haters gonna hate, stans gonna stan.

Will you guys ever give up on this? It's absurd at this point, I think :saladga:

Mess, I'm too much of a Joplin fan. I meant Mitchell in all my posts :lmao:

I can't at you though. I literally wrote in my post (and I already had to repeat it) that she didn't say anything but that I interpreted it as such because her album concept changed so rapidly and her explanation for it was just unbelievable to me, especially since she's still planning an acoustic album, as evidenced by interviews in both 2014 and 2015. So that means she's been planning an acoustic album for about four years now. Quite consistent to me, even if my theory about PRISM is wrong.

And that last paragraph I actually 100% agree with, but you know that, since I said the exact same thing in the post you quoted initially, though you left that part out.
