Gaga dancing & singing to pop again feels like a reach by now

I understand you, but let's not exaggerate, it's been less than a year since the artRAVE ended, at least she has been doing something while taking a break from pop.

It just seems so weird by now to see her dance and perform to pop again  I don't know why. It just seems awkward.

She is a musician anyway and she doesn't need to dance or make generic pop music. She should showcase her talent with the next era, she is not britney, rihanna or katy.

I agree but at the same time, what made Gaga famous is her whole package. Her voice, visuals and performances in the pop zone. She wasn't famous for being a great jazz singer

I love Gaga and her Voice to death, but didn't everyone heard Cheek To Cheek? She was everywhere with that, especially the H&M Commercial. We've also had the Oscar Performance, the Grammy Performance... We all know that Gaga can sing well. She even did 'Bang Bang' on the artRave Livestream. I am sure everyone knows the capability of Gaga's Voice.

She showcased it enough, and even Rihanna showcased her voice in Diamonds for example. She can make 'generic' dance music and still show off her voice. Ariana can do it, Demi can do it... Gaga surely can do too. I just don't want her to get lost in Jazz or the other Vocal Performances... she's almost 30, in 10 years she'd have a much better audience than now, I personally don't think the next Jazz Album will sell half as much than C2C did because people are over it. I am not subjectively implying my own Opinion, but that's just how People are today, something new comes around and the next second, people want something new. Doing Dance/Pop Music again, would be something 'fresh' again since people have the mindset of Gaga being a Jazz Singer right now... (maybe that's what she and her management are aiming for?)

I just want a combination of all the things you guys are mentioning . We're so used to pop acts being just one thing, but what we seem to forget a lot of times is that artist can do more than one style at the same time.

Not just dancing
Not just being vocally impressive
Not just doing pop or jazz
Not just avant-garde or normal

"A hybrid can withstand these things". For all we know Gaga's next tour could be all of these things combined. Some songs could focus more on vocals, while other songs are more danceable. Gaga has proven time and time again that she can drastically switch up her style on any given second, so we shouldn't expect anything to be just "one way or another".

This would make me really sad, because It always felt, especially in young interviews, where the Music Industry didn't have an impact on her, when she was 'Stefani' (the one she 'lost'), like that was what she was aiming for, what she wanted. If it's not anymore, I don't think she has searched enough to find her old self again.

I'm hoping we can expect some more Tom Ford-ish stuff. She was still "dancing" but less choreographed and just free and fabulous, which, god knows, makes her look a lot more current and fresh and exciting.

Well, we've had the Jazz-Pop MashUp already on the artRave, where she sung Jazz and the other second we've had a Ratchet Rave. I dig it, It's fine. But that doesn't work for a whole era. She can't just switch to Jazz while she's promoting a Pop Album. The artRave didn't feel like promoting ARTPOP at all, It was more a celebration of the Album. She didn't do any Interviews in the countries, she just did her thing and left, that's why the transition to Cheek To Cheek was easier for us. We were already over the promotion of ARTPOP.

With her next Album, she can't do that. She needs to decide what message she wants to spread, what genre she wants to explore, what her visuals should be like, and what the Author of the Thread is saying, is that he can't imagine or feels like (s)he's reaching if (s)he's thinking about Gaga doing Pop again and dancing. You listened some great and true things, but for an Album she will only be one thing. For the Promotion of C2C she wasn't a crazy girl who wore meat, she was a Jazz Singer she was elegant. And with her next Pop Album, she can also only be one thing or it'll end up messy.

I don't care that much about dancing, but I still want Gaga to create pop music (it doesn't have to be synthpop) and do theatrical performances. I mean, her being a theatrical pop star who can sing is mostly what makes her so appealing to me.
