I hear even just casual listeners of Gaga's music remembering that time as magical for her, they really loved Born This Way and the message of it and still carry it now. Applause would have sold more copies first week. ARTPOP would be known as a more forward thinking album because the electronic sound really didn't become popular until 2012. ARTPOP does sound like it should have came out early 2012, so if it came out in 2011 it would have definitely have fared better.
