I've never missed an episode.I'd disagree completely with any assertion that this is the "best season since Asylum".The character of The Countess clearly lacks the gravitas of either Fiona Goode or Elsa Mars.Compared to the other things going on in episodic television it's fairly decent, but I feel that the writers have been egregiously underplaying the possibilities of Gaga's character.Lange is more professional and her characters (Fiona and Elsa) were vastly more developed than The Countess. All of Lange's characters looked pretty much the same and they weren't "vastly developed." All I could think while watching it was, "She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on, in the glass of her boudoir." .... Mother Monster <3 And to make it ARTPOP, as Liz leaves the room, the she is deemed a "goddess" and describes herself feeling like "Venus in the clamshell." Such an epic Gaga-infused scene! I wasn't expecting much when they said this season involved children, but I'm really loving the way they've handled it, it's like Village of the Damned meets Dawn of the Dead meets a classic vampire film.I also really liked seeing Iris and Liz Taylor interact. Kathy and Denis have great, easy chemistry. I wished we could have seen more scenes of Gaga in that great Marie Antoinette costume. She looked amazing. Like I can see where it would be and it is like she is trying to hold it in for the character. Is that really the character? robotic? Do we really only get one 2-second emotional scene after 5 episodes where she shoots somebody crying? I don't get it. I truly think the writing on this show is just completely wrong. The ideas they are trying to convey I get and I like...but it is just so bland. I just keep watching though.God her character just really confuses me SO MUCH UGH.
