What Gaga said about her perfumes

She didn't really. She stated that she had moved on from old management and the projects that were under that old management.

@BraveForGaga95 i have moved on from anything having to do with previous management. New music, new manager, new promotion. Life is amazing.

She ignored the app countdown that was supposed to unlock new features, didn't react to this forum repeatedly melting down about it and I remember the mod team getting in contact with her team and telling us that she wasn't gonna pay attention to it or any other project that was/had been in the works (incl. Eau de Gaga) due to Troy's management decisions.

And later, I think, she also said in an interview that she hated how her label always wanted her to top her musical output with non-musical things that Gaga felt to be unnecessary because, after all, she's a musician and just wants to release music.

Thanks! I stopped following GGD during the ARTPOP era for some reason. Thanks for filling me in <3

Fame was definitely an important project for her. I think she enjoyed doing it and genuinely put a lot of effort into it.

eau de gaga on the other hand was a complete mess and literally nothing about it seemed to have Gaga's touch.

The ads were a generic photoshoot session from like 2 years before (that for all we know could have been for anything) that they decided to use for eau de gaga (pressumably because Gaga refused to do an actual tv ad). The music had nothing to do with it, and if Gaga had any interest in it she would have done some music specifically for it (she's a freakin musician ffs that's her thing).

i think eau de gaga happened like this:

perfume makers or whatever: gaga your perfume was such a success! So for your next perfume we're thinking about-

gaga: what?! **** that I'm not doing another one.

and that's what she was talking about at yale.

Oh, I'm just visiting-

I mostly think she was talking about Eau Du Gaga...she put so much thought into The Fame promo I feel like. With Eau Du Gaga she didn't do a single thing to promote it, and could of cared less about it. I got that vibe from the beginning, really.

The Fame was definitely during the first "dark" time and I remember her interviews for Fame were TERRIBLE. She was clearly very high, very awkward and off putting at times. But, I can't help but feel Fame was such a great perfume that got a lot of great promo and really was a great and unique perfume. She seemed to put her own thoughts and ideas into it and that was really great.

Rolodex of Hate

So I was watching Gaga speak at the university from a couple days ago (in this video that Gaga Daily just posted on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/gagadaily/videos/1070218519664285/) and she said that she didn't like making fragrances.

Now I appreciate that at the time of the release of FAME, Gaga seemed very depressed and it was a difficult period in her career, but she talked so passionately about the fragrance (particularly in the months before its release) and I just feel, idk, maybe a bit misled by it all? And I guess her lack of interest in EAU DE GAGA was the reason why it wasn't a success.

Do you guys actually think she disliked FAME? It's just that at the time, she talked so much about how it wasn't about the money, she wouldn't just sign up to some random product with her name on it etc, but how much truth do you think these statements actually had?

I think she talked passionately about the perfume because she stuck to her guns and wanted to make the best out of the campaign so her fans can enjoy it.

I think she meant she didn't enjoy commercializing it and going around promoting it. And I think she wasn't talking about FAME. Cause she was really happy and creative during that era. It was her second perfume that was rushed and she seemed uninterested in promoting it, maybe because she was under a contract to put out another perfume in that time frame? Who knows? But I don't think Gaga hated FAME.

omg I love her fragrances and the promotion done for them, it's such a pity she didn't promote Eau de Gaga that much cause that was my first celebrity fragrance and it's so elegant and beautiful

please don't hate perfumes Gaga, I look forward to you making them

I think Gaga's fragrances are extremely unique, elegant and classy, elements which lack in Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Britney Spears's fragrances. They look more like designer fragrances and more professional to me.

I think she doesn't enjoy doing things that are only about commerce/money

But I think she enjoys exaggerating how much she deplores such deals/people

There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled.

A fragrance was something I never thought Gaga would have done, just because it's the epitome of a ~*celebrity trying to expand their empire*~ sort of thing. I feel that her management (I'm sure Troy had a big part in this) saw how much money it could make and she begrudgingly agreed to it, as long as it was unique, hence the black liquid. After that, she probably decided to turn it into an era so we as the fans could enjoy the release and the Klein commercial.

Eau de Gaga was probably a part of the contract left over from Troy's time, and that's why when he left she contractually had to release it, but didn't bother to do any big promotion other than release a commercial left over from the last Klein campaign and like...tweet a few times, lol.
