What Gaga said about her perfumes

I can't remember exactly what she said in the 'Emotion Revolution' interview at Yale, but I found it interesting that she says she didn't feel comfortable with releasing perfumes.

When she first announced FAME I was taken aback, because she always seemed like she was in another calibre to the celebs releasing perfumes. But given the amount of effort, promotion, and innovation she put into the perfume, I always thought she took it seriously so I grew to like the idea. I especially loved her performance piece where she was asleep with the loads of fans watching and waiting - it was the perfect satire of fame and we were part of her art piece. Brilliant.

So it surprises me that she said this about her perfumes in the recent interview. Eau de Gaga was very half-assed in promotion, but FAME always seemed like her baby. I'm glad she's started saying "no" to things she doesn't want to do, but I can't say her feelings about FAME didn't surprise me.

How do you guys feel about what she said? Are you disappointed she might not be making any more perfumes? Or glad?

I feel the same way about that as I feel about the app: we can't trust her EVER when she's talking. I mean, in 2014 she couldn't stop describing the app as something that would change her career and open up a whole new experience for her fans etc. etc. and then she just dropped and ignored it and implied that it was just Troy's idea and she never gave a **** about it in the first place.

Like, seriously, this is no shade, but she can obviously fake excitement and passion about anything if her label/team/whoever wants her to. So I'm just not gonna believe anything she says in the present or future for my own sanity.

I think having Fame as her one distinctive perfume is enough, and I'm fine if she doesn't do any more

I'm disappointed cause I thought she was actually genuinely enjoying meeting the fans and all, I got to see when she launched FAME in Paris and I always admired the way she signed so many autographs and all, but now that she said that, I'm disappointed in her cause I thought she didn't see us (the fans) as someone she disliked interacting with.

I hate to admit it but I think I agree. I love her but she lies through her teeth sometimes and I don't appreciate that as a fan.

She probably did like everything about FAME back when it was released. I think she truly enjoyed being a star back then.

Eh, we all know how Gaga changes, so I'd think her opinions of pursuing projects change just as well. Also, I wouldn't take something she said while talking to a bunch of young adults as her definite word.

Also, I really do think the level of fame and success alters her thoughts on certain things. I'd think she'd be more open and enthusiastic about projects when she's having success and is in the public eye, while when she's unsuccessful, she's close to completely quitting music. It may be a little vain, but I do think she likes fame, and being famous makes her happy and open to pursuing different things.

Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco, Mark Ronson, and a stoned Lady Gaga. Need I say more?

I think she only wanted to do Fame and on her own terms, it was her idea about being black and she was doing the promotion like no other pop star before her. For a perfume.

She probably wanted it to be first and last time, but after the success of Fame they (management) talked her into second project - Eau de Gaga. And that was "half-assed", cause she finally decided to say NO.

That's how I see it.

That's another thing I found quite strange about the interview. We want selfies with her because we're her fans. We're not going to have meaningful conversations with her in the few seconds we get to talk to her before she's ushered to a car by her bodyguard. I'd love to talk with her rather than just take a picture, but a lot of the time fans don't get that chance.

No she didn't say that, don't get it twisted, gaga actually love interacting with her fans and she's very genuine about it  BUT she's not here (doesn't like) when the other person isn't showing genuine interaction, where they just want a selfie to post on social media.

Yeah, I hope that's the case.

Although Eau de Gaga is amazing so she should be proud of that too.

The thing is that I didn't even take a selfie with her, I was so shocked that Gaga was in front of me that I just froze in front of her, I completely forgot I had a piece of paper in my pocket and she looked at me then she saw I had no paper so she just went to the fan next to me. Like she should be careful with her words, I liked how well spoken she was in the Emotion interview but her words really hurt me.

As much as I love and respect Gaga, I agree with everything you said. I'm sure she's genuine about some of the stuff she says about her projects but at the same time we can't take everything she says seriously, I mean this is the woman that lied about the color of her prom dress. Gaga does love to exaggerate a lot of things she says too so whenever she describes something I just wait until it happens and then make a judgment. I think we all learned to just wait and expect the unexpected although she has been kinda predictable lately.

Well that's stupid of her, what is she expecting? Is she expecting the fan to take a cup of tea with her and have a deep convo about the meaning of life? Of course everybody would want a selfie.
