Is Gaga able to debut a single and slay everyone like Adele?

No, not at this point.

IF her next era is meant to be successful, the success will come like weeks after the release of the first single when (and if) radio play it because it's GOOD and the GP run to buy it.

Lol we need to stop pretending like Gaga isn't one of the biggest popstars on the planet

To be fair, Gaga in 2010 is what Adele is in 2015. On another level above everyone else.

But it's not 2010, and Gaga got very controversial/polarizing during BTW/AP. I don't think she'll ever be as big as she was in 2010 again. She'll be talked about and have success, but nothing like that.

Nop. Adele is bigger than what Gaga or every other popstar after the 2000s have ever been

Damn reading this thread made me hyped. Lol. I want to listen to Gaga's music soooo badly. Seriously, can't wait to discover what she is preparing now :flutter:

Probably not. She is no Natural Disaster Adele, but she can certainly have massive worldwide success.

I mean, personally I really don't care all that much. Sure, its fun to keep up with sales and its a nice extra to see your fave selling well, but all I want is amazing music, and I wholeheartedly believe that LG5 will be her best album yet.

Of course she can. Gaga just needs to keep on trying to regain the press but at the same time to be herself. Whoever says no needs to relive the times where people have neglected Gaga and told her “no" and she told them wrong. I know a lot of you are delusional (no, really delusional) but look at Bieber and even Madonna. They both came from unsuccessful albums and boom! Ray of Light and Purpose are coming out too. People have said this for a really long time but anything can happen to Gaga if she plays her cards right.

There's more to stardom that just sales. Gaga had miles more impact on the music industry than Adele and her media attention was insane.

Well.. Gaga definitely had a huge impact but it was mostly on pop culture, fashion, music videos and she made dance music popular in the US.. But Adele's 21 (and now probably 25) are more iconic and impactful. Adele doesn't really want media attention anyway.

Disagree. Videos and pop culture impact matter.

I disagree. Adele is not iconic at all, and to be quite honest she seems like the kind of star who will leave just a couple of famous songs and then completely disappear. There's millions and millions of famous songs, and Adele adding a couple more to the list doesn't make her iconic or relevant.

We've had soo many people like Adele in music history. This is not new at all and I recognize Adele is incredibly succesful right now and nobody can take that away from her, but let's not get carried away and start comparing her impact to Gaga's impact on popular culture, which is undeniably immense.

Oh, I'm just visiting-

Everything about your comment is wrong tbh. 1)She didn't just "add" some famous songs..She has one of the most successful albums of all times. And her songs are so much better than anything else that has been released in the last years. And this album looks like it will be as big. 2)We haven't had even 1 person like Adele in music history. And please don't even try to compare her to Alanis  3)Adele's impact is not on pop culture..It's on music

I kinda disagree she has left an impact on music itself - at least at this point in time. Her songs are good and her writing isn't hollow. But musically she's not bringing anything new to the table, she just does what she does well and thats what she is famous for. So you can't really say at this point whether she will have a lasting impact on music as a whole. She is kinda in the same league as Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, and Joni Mitchell. Lyrically they all impress, but actual sound wise they work with what's already proven. Adele will be remembered for sure, but will she be a catalyst for innovation and pioneering new genres? That will be what makes the difference between her being just remembered and her having a true "impact". She has her success though now and nobody can take that away from her, it's just really what will that success mean 20-30 years from now?

Really sad to see the negativity. And lack of confidence.

People saying she can't are ridiculous. Adele has huge album numbers, but Gaga still reigns as the queen of the single.

Rolling in the Deep doesn't touch Poker Face, Bad Romance, Born This Way. Even Applause is close to Rolling in the Deep.

Any Gaga comeback single will be huge, especially after Justin and Adele pump out slow songs all winter.

Rolling in the Deep has actually outsold most of those songs you listed. Poker Face and RITD sold the same amount. It sold almost five times more than Applause.

Hello is going to be big for a while, but then we will get another single from Adele and it could easily be more up tempo like RITD.

We have no idea when Gaga is going to release her lead single for LG5. It could be next fall, after the Grammy eligibility period has changed.
