Is Gaga able to debut a single and slay everyone like Adele?

She's been consistently on the GP radar more than Adele has been. Adele scalped the world, disappeared for three years with very little news related to music, and then basically came back and did it again with "Hello." People were waiting.
Gaga would have to be at the absolute top of her game and then literally vanish for a while to make people thirsty.

Not impossible, but not now, maybe

Although LG5's lead single can be a huge hit, I don't think it will break Adele's records. ARTPOP not meeting the general public's (or shall I say basic public's) expectations is a huge factor for that. (Just like AHS Hotel having less first ep ratings than Freak Show because Freak Show was a disappointment)

If the next era flowed smoothly, then the album after LG5 might probably snatch records.

Hide yo faves for LG 6 :trollga:

But if that doesn't happen, then it's fine. She's had her time during her first three albums. I'd still love her no matter what. :kisses:

The GeePee are not thirsty for Gaga anymore, but that does not mean she can not relive the success of her previous albums.

Adele was going to slay from the getgo. Gaga cannot top it.

I can hope though.

In my messy era.

No, not at this point.

IF her next era is meant to be successful, the success will come like weeks after the release of the first single when (and if) radio play it because it's GOOD and the GP run to buy it.

Even tho it seems difficult, it's not so unlikely for gaga to gain exposure anyway, she just needs to act clever. Jessie J got her spotlight back (at least for 5 minutes again) with the release of Bang Bang (of course thanks to ariana and nicki). Same happened with bieber, who would've thought he would have a #1 single this year after Journals (which flopped harder than ARTPOP) and all of the controversy surrounding him.

She just needs something fresh, catchy, memorable + a short, aesthetically pleasant video, a Grammys/VMA's performance and some great promo.

I thought journals was not an actual studio album btw, I thought it was something like a side effort considering it is classified as compilation album. I am not sure what it is actually ...

Mess at all of you for doubting the good sis... :saladga:

yes it may be unlikely that anyone could ever top adele, but if anyone can do it it's Gaga. Remember in less than 2 years Gaga went from a nobody in the music industry to literally the most famous person on earth. All of you need to stop underestimating her.

That being said, Hello is the song of the decade tbh

Firstly: sick of people saying Adele/Hello doesn't deserve the amount of praise and attention :later: pressed stans

I do think Gaga has the power to do it, she knows exactly how to orchestrate the media and her perception. she's had a hard time for a while now, she can only go up. let's just see how things go and focus on peeing our pants when we hear the lead single.

I don't know.. I mean, Adele is blessed for attracting many people from different genres and commanding respect from them. I don't think Gaga will be able to release something that will "slay" outside of the pop lover community.

I don't think so.

I think she could get A LOT of success, of course, but it won't be as frontloaded as Adele's.

If she releases a good song it will grow and be a big hit, I am sure about that. And then if the era goes well something like adele could happen the next time if the music is really good. But not with LG5.

Anyway she has done a good job building up her image again, so I am sure that the next single will be a hit. Maybe not an instant hit, but it will be very very successful.

I think the reason Adele gets many viewers is because she has strong fanbase on both continents USA  and UK. The problem with Gaga is that she is mostly known in the US but not as strong as in the UK.

Adele also atrracts wider age range, than Taylor (who held the record before). More 30+ people than her.

Also, I'm from Europe and I would say that both Gaga and Adele are really well remembered here. Lady Gaga is a catchy, easy to say and iconically pop star-ish name tbh. I've talked to kids who were really small when she debuted and to older people, they all know her and her "ra ra ra" "ma ma ma" (again, easy to remeber) songs.

...has anybody seen my disco stick?

Latin American and Asiabring a big part of the views too, and Gaga is really powerful there. And I think she's actually bigger in Mainland Europe than in the USA, don't know about the UK though. The problem is that Adele attracts a bigger range of age.

No... just no...

I get that she has repaired her image over the course of this year but she's nowhere near as loved as Adele, nor will she ever be...

She would have to start doing safe artistry / albums like Adele does, and Gaga just will never do this, she'll always be "love her or hate her" artist

Sorry to break it to you
