So, now it is the singles that will suffer...and it will be the follow up to the follow up...right? The same with Taylor, right? She is "overexposed" like Adele was "overexposed", so that means it will be the follow up to the follow up to 1989 that suffers, right? I want to get your story straight for Taylor's next release.

And just to be clear, what you are saying now is that all artists will end up dropping off in popularity eventually? That's exactly what I said to your last Taylor is "overexposed...etc....etc" comment. That's a given...everyone knows that!

Oh, and by the way, Adele is not just my "current favorite". I'm not like those people at ATRL who have thirty pop girls listed on their sets. I have been completely clear from the start that Adele is one of my favorite artists, so don't even try it. All you have to do is search my name and Adele and you can see how many times I have mentioned her favorably over the past couple of years. You and I have had several discussions over her and her music, long before Hello was ever mentioned or released.

There's no "now" about it, I've been saying this from this beginning. And yes, the same with Taylor. In her case, it won't be a follow-up to a follow-up, though. Because she re-peaked 3 albums after Fearless, so she's proved she can hold onto success for longer, so she's in a different category. But yes, her single performance will suffer too. 3 #1's and 2 top tens in the US cannot be replicated for 2 albums in a row, fact. So, if you want my story straight so you can bookmark me and call me up on it later (so pathetic how you hold onto these personal grudges), then: I think Taylor's next album will not do as well as 1989. I predict world sales of about 6 million or less, with much lower-performing singles.

No, I didn't quite mean "everyone loses popularity eventually."  I meant "some artists will fall into obscurity eventually." Of course everyone will get lower sales as time goes on but there's artists who manage to hold onto decent sales for literally decades. People are saying Adele could be one of them and I disagree. Because I think she peaked too early and will easily be forgotten if she continues to take such large breaks (the death knell for artists nowadays).

I wasn't trying to be disparaging when I said she was your current favourite. I don't know all your favourites and I didn't know how long you'd been a fan, so I kept it vague. Believe it or not, I don't attempt to be shady with every reply and not everything I say has a deep meaning behind it (ironically enough, this is often something you say, so maybe you should take your own advice).

it held for a good couple months, which will probably be the same for this. Although the 100 million views thing will stick for a while when adele beats it and she will.

I don't think either will be beaten for a while. I mean, look how close the numbers were the past few years.... Taylor used an insane amount of promo and cameos for her video and she BARELY got the record. (And this was after the success of Shake it Off, Blank Space, and Style.) I really think Taylor had an awesome setup to get those views. Adele comes in and gets the record by 7 million. I think it would have to be a new artist.. that blows up. If the artists with previous records try the same thing.... cameos, being s-xy, naked, etc.... I don't see them getting the same views. The GP will not be here for it. IMO

1.
"Hello"
Adele
27.7 million

2.
"Bad Blood"
Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar
20.1 million
3.
"Anaconda"
Nicki Minaj
19.6 million

4.
"Wrecking Ball"
Miley Cyrus
19.3 million

5.
"Can't Remember to Forget You"
Shakira featuring Rihanna
18.2 million

Anastasios

It means she is the biggest and most successful artist of this decade. It means everything to you. Your dislike of her consumes you and are blinded by hate. You care so much that you came in here to comment. Hopefully you viewed the video and gave her a view that will count towards history.

Will you marry me?

SLAY ADELE you earned it btw

I mean I get that this is a discussion board but all these Little Managers acting like they know what will happen to artists. I saw lots of you saying "Hello" will flop or 25 will flop... :stalkga:You can't predict anything and it's mostly out of jealousy.

Just let it play out. Stop the drama, start the music.

P.S. SLAY ADELE

Good for her :applause:The song and video are a bit boring and "done" for my taste, but that's just me. She definitely deserves the praise, records, and success she has.

And for real, as a note to you guys, I can't get past the 6th page of this thread. You all act so disgusting towards each other sometimes. Can't you handle yourselves like adults? Certainly you can't see any logic or sense in telling each other to suck a d*ck, calling each other out, and talking down to each other.

Seriously, I love you guys, but I come here to get away from crap like that and you all just bring your own toxicity in.

You're stinky
