Are you stuck inside Gaga's world?

Ever since AHS, I feel like I can't relate to Gaga that much anymore. The past few weeks I have just been checking here once or twice a day and spending maybe 15 minutes max. Maybe I'm just phasing out of my obsession. Recently I have been thinking a lot about my own career and aspirations. I realized that spending so much time discussing and experiencing her life, isn't going to improve my own life in the long run. Witnessing her life is really just a distraction from me following my own dreams because It feels like I am living through her. Its like she has been giving us this fake sense of fulfillment that feels so real. But it isn't real. One day we are all going to wake up and feel so empty, because we spent so much time idolizing someone else instead of becoming great people like her.  It took me awhile to admit to this, but I have been using Gaga as a crutch for the past 5 years. I don't think I have been living my own life to the fullest because I was so stuck inside her world.

Can anyone else relate?

Being a hardcore Gaga fan won't stop me from living my life and chasing my dreams. I can do both. :nick:

It's kind of genius (and I genuinely think this is one of Gaga's genius achievements, even though I'll probably be dragged for saying it) how Gaga managed to, with unique untried social media tools for which she will be remembered more than her fashion - trust me, build this community around her that is of such extreme commercial benefit due to personal entanglement. I mean, I know that everyone thinks Gaga has a genuine relationship with her fans blah blah, even if that's true, that still doesn't nullify the fascinating psychology tricks going on.

I mean, this whole "I can only feel good about myself until Gaga is on top and the queen and slayage etc. etc." movement is as scary as it is effective. Over the years I have found it shocking that Gaga pretends to be 100% unaware of this mechanism of psychological projection that's going on in her fanbase, to the extent that it's one of my prime reasons for thinking that Gaga may have unspoken motives in the way she approaches us.

I dunno, it'll be interesting to see it develop in the future. I'm glad that, even though I love discussing Gaga, I couldn't give one **** about her success (simply because I have so many other artists to pay attention to - probably why I'm saved from the curse), I'm not forsaking my life to make Gaga a richer woman. & I'm glad you had a very simple but inevitably dramatic realization about that too

I kinda get what you're saying, in a way I feel like that too. But once I checked in I knew I couldn't get out :laughga: AHS teas

Well actors are not STAN material, musicians are. She is currently an actor, which means she doesn't do anything very interesting. Your lack of interest is completely understandable.

I get your point but why can't you live your life fully AND like Gaga ? I mean both can belong together :trollga:

In my opinion, you just need to find a balance.

It is quite incredible how she found a way to make us feel so attached and loyal to her. She makes us feel like she is one of our friends. Sometimes I do wonder if her interactions are genuine or just a public relations strategy.

By the way, you are so smart and insightful. I always love reading your posts!
