BornSimon 4,791
I am LOVING this season, best one since Asylum. This episode was fantastic, and the more I see of Gaga the less I link the Countess to her. She's really becoming her character, the way she speaks, her voice, her accent, it's all the Countess and not Gaga anytmore.Lily Rabe was fantastic as usual and I loved having Seth on the show as I love him on Salem. Evan Peters 10,439
gaga was only in this episode for like,10 mins and you guys are complaining either about the show being just for her or that she's a bad actress. like...it's the same people who were praising her an episode ago you guys really do not make any sense. forreal. anyways, i thought the episode was great. the soiree was so wild. all the killers were portrayed so perfectly, it was almost scary and evan was amazing as usual. based on pissed march was getting when john wasn't listening to him there's clearly something up with him. im beginning to think that john is either the 10 comm. killer or he's just ****ed up like them. Whats the meaning behind the camera turning upside down in the last scene? What does it represent? it just adds to the scene. ahs is known for doing odd angles. All I need to say about this episode is that there was no need to kill the dog. I know Holden is a vampire but he could have just bitten his mother's arm or something and leave the dog alone. I found this extra cruel like pets are for me the most lovely thing in the world did you feel the same way about the rat that had it's neck ripped out in murder house? or the cow that had it's heart ripped out by the kid possessed by the devil in asylum? i didn't like that the dog died either but c'mon. I get that asking for "realistic" scenes in this show is probably not going to happen, given the context... but Alex bringing Holden home and acting like things are totally normal ??? Yes, she was shaking when she poured the juice but..SHE JUST DISCOVERED HER MISSING SON OF 5 YEARS and she was acting like he had just been away for a weekend. Again, probably not something I should look into. Still, I liked this episode as a stand alone episode. It was interesting and entertaining and I still cannot get over Evan Peters. JPM is such an interesting character and Evan is the best actor on the show right now hands down. I think this is his best acting yet cause he's playing a character so beyond anything he's done. I'm still very excited to see where the Holden storyline goes. I still am begging the writers to give the Countess better lines, and more scenes with emotion. pretty sure she was trying to act normal because she didn't want to scare him or upset him. it's a common thing people do. they try to act like the person wasn't gone long or that it's not that big of deal to keep the other person calm. this was obvious when she went to get the juice and she spilled it all over when she was pouring it. i agree with everything about evan and mr. march tho emma roberts is an abuser

Bad Monster Kid 13,140
Best: Evan and Mare. Evan deserves an Emmy nom for this season. His best performance yet.Worst: Wes Bentley. His acting is nearly killing the show for me. Not much range. Why did he get the lead role? Matt would do well in this role.

yASSsss 35,510
i don't get the hate for Wes Bentley..his character may seem a bit dull in front of all those ghosts/killers but he's the main hero of this show and it's supposed to be that way..i think he's doing a good job Call me by your name and I'll call you by mine
lego 44,165
I just watched ep. 3 and 4 in a row, they were not too gory for me. Gaga had so little screentime in this last one, left me craving for more. Evan's acting is probably the best, that accent is magnificent and his facial expressions, he also reminds me of Clark Gable in Gone With the Wind. As the main hero it's imperative the audience is able to connect on some sort of level. Typically I would blame the writing but I don't think it's been bad(at least For his character). He has had a lot to work with and he's not selling it for me.

SpadesToStart 2,365
AND can we just talk about gaga for a second? was it made clear before the season started that she was playing an emotionless character, her face just shows absolutely no emotion (apart from the last scene where she randomely started crying) her accent is so strange, i kinda just want her to speak normally instead of having this thick accent. I think Gaga's apparent lack of emotion is very intentional. It makes the Countess seem less human, and gives her this ageless, ethereal quality. At the same time, there are moments full of passion and emotion (when Romona cheated on her, when she turned Alex, when she dumped Donovan). I think the Countess just has very strong walls and doesn't let them down easily. But I'm guessing as she starts to lose control later in the season, those walls will come down. She's like a sheet of glass: perfectly still and crystalline, but then sometimes she shatters.
Kingdom Gaga 1
This season is shaping up to be the best since Asylum in my opinion. Until this season is over season 2 will always be the best for me. I'm loving the plot and setting, there are so many different intricate characters that all have crazy backstories that makes me actually care about the plot want to know more. And of course Gaga's acting is spot on.

Her performance is called emotionless, but... the character she's playing her very surface level. She has a lot going on underneath, and we have only seen a few peeks of vulnerability so far. She's playing Elizabeth as someone who has seen a lot, lost a lot, gives zero ****s, and isn't about to let just anyone in on what she's thinking. I believe that, as the layers are pulled back through the season, people will look back on these first few episodes and realize "Oh, so that's what she was doing." @SpadesToStart - we are on the exact same page with this. LebaneseDude 6,146
I don't think Wes Bentley is a bad actor. Then again I haven't seen him in other roles so I may be wrong. In my opinion he's playing the character perfectly. He's supposed to be wooden. That's what his character is supposed to be. If you suspect that he is the Ten Commandments Killer then it should be even more obvious. That side of him is a complete juxtaposition of his conscious character. So I think people are conflating bad acting for being completely uneventful and boring. That was the point. He's not supposed to invoke anything but "meh". That's going to set up the insanity I suspect we'll see from him sooner rather than later. Also I don't think this episode was filler at all, in as much as Halloween specials are fillers. Besides the Countess/Alex bits, this episode did the following in terms of plot.1) Revealed the legacy of Mr. March, as a trainer of killers. This can have further implications down the line, especially since John Lowe is disappointing him for the moment. 2) Began the process of breaking down Lowe's barriers. For the viewer, the question of "Why is John Lowe among them?" begins to take root. "Perhaps he's not as normal as we think he is?"That's a lot for a mere 25 minutes or so, especially since visuals were very prominent this time around. That's not to say that there aren't "pointless" scenes. I just don't think every scene needs to always have relevance. This is supposedly a horror show. I think it's fitting to exaggerate the horror aspects on a Halloween-centered episode. The blatantly exposed murder fetishes are also rationalized to the point of actually making some sense to the viewer. This is horrifying on a mental level. This is also included in the Alex/Countess scenes in terms of Holden. That head drilling guy seriously made me lurch. That hasn't happened before. Edited just now by LebaneseDude.
