The album is anything but safe, the themes are anything but safe and she still managed to sell as much as she did in 2010 and spawn 3 hit singles. Not to mention the legendary year long promo tour, all the iconic looks etc The same people who are b---hing now will be crying and missing this era in a year or two. ( HYPE). and the disappointment's proof is the big drop. Because if the music was as half as good Gaga claimed it to be,The album wouldn't drop in like 1million sales or more. Don't forget that gaga was the biggest name in the world back then. ( music wise). and her huge fanbase that will buy everything she makes. like me for example. Im sure the album sales will increase throughout the duration of the tour. So basically your saying she can't sell if she doesn't promote. Another proof that the music is disappointing. PPL calling BTW a flop... keep in mind, Gaga already has her fan-base established, shes not making a lot of new fans or getting a lot of new ppl interested... So her album sales were high the first 2-3 weeks and after all the fans got it it fell down the charts fast... but it still sold around what TFM sold W.W Wasnt as successful as TF... That one was the msot sold album and over-all had the biggest singles too... But its normal for the first album to do better... She was new, fresh and ppl were pumped for this freaky cool chick Its possible she may get another era as big as TF, but its also possible she wont... sometimes an artists peak is their first era even if they last 20 years... We better get used to the fact that most Eras wont be as big and ajust our standards If we just happen to get another Era as big as The Fame... We can take that as a nice bonus, but we shouldnt be expecting it cause it wont happen often, its rare for an album to have the singles sales, album sales and cultural impact at the level that album did I'm not calling it a flop,But it's just harmed gaga ( charts wise) more than did good,Any popstar with a big name with the same amount of hype+promotion gaga did could have easily sold 5million copies. Okay. I have to intervene. I am very sorry but Born This Way was far from a disappointment. That album means so much to so many people. It is not a pop album for the masses and that's why people are mad. Seriously. Get the **** over it. Stop b---hing and enjoy. If u don't like it fine, but don't tell other people they cant see it as a success. Since she. Did this fan base turn into a bunch of bullies? Seriously respect each other. I respect that it's personal to some people. But me for example can relate to something like " Ride pony ride" and songs like bloody mary. they are good songs but how the fk someone can relate to it in any kind of way. It's actually a genius strategy to sell a product. It's business for gods sake. Of course the album sales were going to drop after that.. it's almost as if your implying that if the music was 'that good' she would've kept selling the same amount per week.
