But I really think all Adele's music sounds extremely similar, with no experimentation, not even slightly. Lana has experimented with different sounds on all albums, so naturally she's more diverse. She doesn't want to play guitar in her live performances. That doesn't make her lazy or a mediocre artist. Lana plays the guitar. Why doesn't she accompany herself with all het songs on stage with her guitar? Does she feel she isn't good enough at playing? Why doesn't she practice to get better? Does this make her a lazy artist? Kelly Clarkson can play guitar, but you rarely see her use it...does that make her less of an artist? Yes, you do disagree with the majority of vocal experts and you are not an expert. I agree completely with this. Well, Lana has got elements of laziness in her too (she's got that promotion-phobic side of her, which drives me crazy, just like Adele), so this is to be expected. But the difference is that she stopped playing instruments as soon as she hit the big time. I don't think she's ever played an instrument as Lana, only when she was indie Lizzy Grant. Adele played instruments constantly for her big label debut and then all but abandoned it for her follow-up, which is very strange. I didn't know Kelly could play guitar, so I can't really comment on that. But seeing as her music is very pop and uptempo and might require electronic sounds live, it maybe doesn't suit acoustic guitar all the time. Seeing as she's apparently making a country album next, she'll probably bring it in for that, though. Please don't get smarmy with me. I'm only presenting my viewpoint. You and several others always seem to act as if I'm saying something disgusting or totally stupid when it's just a harmless viewpoint that doesn't affect you. I believe she gave up briefly when she was pregnant but was pictured smoking not long after the birth. The smoking was the whole reason she got that famous vocal haemorrage in the first place. So, she didn't give up a few years ago. I think for the sake of her career, she should give up, considering how she's clearly one of those people for whom smoking affects greatly. For the record, I think Gaga should quit completely too, but it doesn't bother me as much, as unlike Adele, she seems to be better adapted to smoking and it doesn't affect her voice or health.Like I stated before, she quit.From the Rolling Stone interview: "She has quit smoking ("I absolutely loved it, but it's not that ****ing cool when I'm dying from a smoking-related illness and my kid is, like, devastated") and has maybe one drink a week now." From the Rolling Stone interview: "She has quit smoking ("I absolutely loved it, but it's not that ****ing cool when I'm dying from a smoking-related illness and my kid is, like, devastated") and has maybe one drink a week now." I keep hearing of serious smokers being able to quit, makes me stop wanting to be a weakling and hang it up as well, if those top smokers can, anyone can. After women have spent a few months not smoking, it is easier to quit. Plus, they are so busy those first couple of years (and beyond really), they just don't think about it as much.
