It doesn't top shows on networks like NBC or ABC though, those shows like Law & Order SVU on Wednesday nights get between 12-15 million viewers per episode. Hotel got something like 5.3M viewers.

That's because they are terrestrial channels, and FX is on cable. AHS was the highest rated cable showing of the night.

This is great news for Hotel, and a great result.

So happy AHS topped TWD. That show has been garbage since the second season when they got a new director and cut the budget.

The second set of numbers where AHS is #1 is Twitter ratings whatever that is.

That is not actual U.S. ratings that the networks use for cancellation purposes. Just an FYI.

In the official ratings Walking Dead and Empire will be above AHS.

There's still hope for Hotel to snatch the #1 :pumpga:

According to FX, “Hotel” still has a chance to move ahead of the “Freak Show” premiere to rank as the network’s most-watched telecast ever when full data is tabulated in about 60 days.

NBC and ABC are both free public broadcasting television anyone can access to.

FX is a cable/sattellite only channel excluse to those paying customers.

obviously the numbers are going to be lower than any FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS show.

Its good, but I was hoping it would break the record.

I think the end of Freakshow left a really sour taste in viewer's mouths for the future of AHS. For Hotel to pull numbers such as these after FS is actually incredible.
