Why does everyone assume that Adele will sell millions and millions  of copies.:emma:

Because it's pretty sure her label did the best to assure she'll sell millions copies. It's pretty certain she won't sell as much as 21. Which was just huge sales. But there's not doubt other artists can fear Adele's return...

People aren't taking into account that Adele has many fans that will probably automatically buy her album the day it comes out. She appeals to such a wide demographic that the older generations will buy it, people will be gifting it simply because it's an Adele album, etc. the quality won't matter in terms of first day sales because she will break records simply by having an album out.

She's only released one major record breaking album and it already feels like tradition. "Buy your family and friends an Adele album." Her music is so safe, marketable and universal that it's akin to buying a gift card in that you're  unlikely to go wrong by buying it as a present. Look at her sales, do you really think it isn't a safe bet that someone you know would enjoy an Adele album?

Adele is like the goliath of music. No one dare compete against her music sales.

That's exactly the right words to describe Adele's place in music industry !
