Creyk 17,805
This 1000 times over. Give me an album of Dope's and Swine's over an album of Just Dance's and Bad Romance's any day! Don't let the teeny-bopper fickle fans ruin your love for music, Gaga! It's not like she has to chooseShe can just give us the Just Dance's and Bad Romances and keep the rest to herself, she doesn't need to put all her songs on her albums. (sort of like an ACT II situation, the songs exist but we will never get them)
Sister 9,907
This is a really great interview. I am so glad that you brought it to our attention.Bad Romance is my favorite Lady Gaga song, but I do not want another one, the one and only is enough of that. I do want what music is real for her to release. I want what she feels and wants to put out. I do not ever want any artist to fake it and put out just what they imagine or feel like others want from them. I am choosy with artists that I really care for the material of and actually follow the career of and what she expresses here is completely what I do not wish for of anyone who's music I follow. I like Dope, it stands on it's own and does have a lot of character and that character is what makes Gaga's songs so important, but that character is also found in Bad Romance and her other more popular hits. It is not only found in the darker driven songs, like Dope, Speechless and TIHTY.I hope that Gaga will keep thinking on this and make sure to deliver her real self through her songs and not just smiley pop marvels. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
monketsharona 80,349
Do you remember Bobby saying in an interview that next era is going to appeal to a larger audience ? Be ready for more popular things I'm fine with it as long as it's a good album.
SLAYing 3,114
The thing that made GAGA different from the rest was / is that she dares to be whoever the fuk she wants to be .. Musically .. Lyrically .. Fashionably ..She was an anti popstar since day one but still a popstar .. If that makes any sense !She should always be that same bad ass chick forever and she will be .. Staryu 6,162
Well, that's kinda sad to read. :/ Gaga should feel like she can create whatever she wants. I do enjoy happy songs, but I don't want Gaga to push herself to make them because of other people's expectations. If she feels like using her pain in the music, than she definitely should. She's the artist.
Shadow 6,625
What I don't understand is why she feels like she's missing her liberty? She Is definitely more than capable of being a perfectionist and expressing imperfect beauty, even the ugliness as real as it gets, has she not proven she can do both? This isn't politics, it's art and her expression. And where did the "I don't give a f--k" Gaga go that mixed the perfect and imperfect anyway, got under people's skin like she knew she could get away with. She can very well do whatever the f--k she wants. What is it going to take to rekindle the fire in her eyes? Do your own research.

aaronyoji 2,054
The thing is, she kind of needs to worry about what people think of her art, because part of her career is people buying it. shes set for life though, her grand children would be set based off of what she's already made 7 years into her career. you pay your dues in the beginning and write pretty bops so that later can have true artistic freedom. she doesn't need to worry about anything. like at all. nope. Brooke Candy 3,970
She really is starting to annoy me right now.. Like why can't she just not give a f*ck what other people say and just make THE music that feels like making? What is actually stopping her from doing that? Isn't she in a 'good place' now? Ughh... She's so confusing sometimes. buy 'Paper or Plastic' by Brooke candy on iTunes NOW!!
KarmaPolice 4,731
As always you guys are over reacting. She is referring to another side of dark: the dark on ARTPOP (Swine, Dope, MaryJaneHolland) is totally different from the usual dark Gaga ala TFM. On ARTPOP she really expressed her self and her inner problems/fears (her d--g addiction, rape, etc). On The Fame Monster she was talking about dark themes, but a bit less personal (she was referring to the dark side of Fame in general).
Divine 1,821
well, i am glad she's recognizing such things.. uhm my point of view here is that she needs to recapture or gain the audience again before expressing her artistic measures... because if she keeps on doing songs like "dope" she'll be topped by other new artist/s. Im not saying i hate dope or songs that are not catchy as "Poker Face".. gaga needs exposure.. and exposure is equal to interviews, performances, radio plays, awards/recognitions etc etc.. she needs Tf,Tfm kind of album first before doing albums like ARTPOP,BTW.. but i love all the album of hers. Im really glad she's building her image again with Hotel.. and jazz album/s.. anyway, she knows what she's doing... she can do what she wants.. its her life.. i just want her to be happy :)) "And I still love you even if I can't see you anymore." Dann 354
I really would love her to move forward and do her true music she desire to do she can always do her pop music seance she already did her thing and she did it phenomenally so that's why she should just feel free and let the pain in her music and im sure her fans will love that. Bring that pop rock or even disco sound she could do always better
JustPokeHerFace 2,564
shes set for life though, her grand children would be set based off of what she's already made 7 years into her career. you pay your dues in the beginning and write pretty bops so that later can have true artistic freedom. she doesn't need to worry about anything. like at all. nope. But if we want to get more tours, higher-budget music videos, and as many people hearing her art as possible, she needs to have a marketing strategy behind the album. Which I think she will. Now I'm not saying that she should sell out. She should write and create whatever she pleases. What I'm saying is that she should have stuff organized in advance this time around. Know how to market it. We can spend all day saying that she shouldn't write for the GP or whatever, but at the end of the day, they bring attention to her art and her message, and ultimately determine what is put down in the history books, whether we like it or not. Quasi 10,923
I want Gaga to create what she wants to hear, not what the GP wants to hear. The public has singers like Katy, Taylor, and Ariana to fulfill their craving for relatable love songs because I'm sure that's all they'll ever continue to write and sing about. The last thing I want for Gaga is to listen to chart obsessed fans and sacrifice her artistic expression in the process. I am sick as sh*t of GP friendly teen bop songs. I need Gaga to give me a reason to not give up on the music of today, and that'll only happen if she has no more f*cks to give about what the fanbase and the public deem as "acceptable". But I am sure I speak for all of us when I say that whatever she releases, whether we like the music or not, will be genuinely loved by us fans because it would have come from a place of authenticity and fearlessness on Gaga's part. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas.
