Ryan Reid 173
I see it in the subtle candy dispenser hints Yes! The candy gumball symbolism & spherical/ball-shaped dish is where it's at! You know what's up. Helllooooooo Koons ball!
Auro 1,829
Yes! The candy gumball symbolism really is where it's at! You know what's up. Helllooooooo Koons ball! exactly, not only is the one on the left a blue green circle, it's made up of smaller blue/green circles (Reverse Warholian) and they use a circular one and use candy the same color as the Koons ball He/They
Ryan Reid 173
Speaking of the Koons ball... Did you know she foreshadowed the ARTPOP cover within the "Born This Way" video --- 3 years before!? Yes, you can see the ARTPOP cover in BTW vid. Katsuki Bakugo 9,788
Got it - we are on the same page! I can totally respect that these references were as much (if not more so) Ryan's ideas as they were Gaga's. But they are "Gaga references" all the same (regardless of whose idea they were). I am looking forward to this being cemented in one of her best works! /how it influences her next album!! nativenewyorker 1,190
Lol I thought this was gonna be about her doing coke and talking about her life in New York
Ryan Reid 173
Lol I thought this was gonna be about her doing coke and talking about her life in New York YES! While watching, I told my friends, "Did you notice the heavy-handed double speak about how she misses devouring the pulse of New York City, while in this show and real life, she's living in Los Angeles?" LOL
Ryan Reid 173
OK, even I will admit this one is reaching... But while in the ARTPOP room, the top she's wearing looks like the wings she wears for the artRAVE opening number (which was "ARTPOP") as well as the wings she wears in the opening number of the "G.U.Y." video (which was also "ARTPOP"). It's also on theme, both as a color scheme (bringing in the gold accents of the album cover, same as Venus/Aphrodite) and a concept (Roman shoulder pad and draping -- Venus/Aphrodite). FameHookah 4,676
yaaaassss you forgot the LAST scene where she says, "Your boy has a jaw line for days." It referenced TFM era specifically Telephone/bad romance era....yaaaassssyeah it was from 2010 on the show's timeline and i was like oomgYAASSS WTF is MDNA
aaronyoji 2,055
i think the end scene is an actual reference, because it takes place in 2010 and gaga looks like her telephone era self.
FATCAT 60,379
Delusional Lady Gaga AHS a--lysis removed! This isn't a nod to cheek to cheek, the whole hotel is retro. Mere coincidence. It's a chrome sculpture and the colors pink and blue. This isn't an 'ARTPOP room', this is her kid-napped kids play room... It's blood. Her character is a vampire. This is just a coincidence. That's lipstick on the left, thats a DROP of blood on the right. These are just unrelated completely. They're holding hands, it isn't some crazy illuminati ritual.. Are you trolling? Because all of these threads you make about crazy, almost un-linkable, coincidences makes absolutely every fiber of my being laugh out loud. I understand that you want to believe that all of these are connected, but they aren't, they're just coincidences. TimisaMonster 31,073
Most of that is a reach besides the first pic and the last... Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify!
Bye 3,947
inb4 at the end of the season they reveal that the countess is actually Lady Gaga herself, talk about a reverse horror experience.
crisTEAne 21,059
the paparazzi and the ARTPOP allusions/references do make sense and are quite obvious. the hidden room is reminiscent of the one in the G.U.Y. video, the neon colors (artRAVE, album cover), and the sculpture (koons). if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back
