Could it have been that because she was black? Why was the same diva who was named "MTV's Icon" in 2001 dropped like a rock in a mere 3 years? Everyone knew Madonna was / is controversial so Christian, conservative etc families would have strayed away from watching Madonna perform if she was the entertainment for the superbowl.Whilst Janet was risque, she was never that controversial so the shock factor had a huge effect on that moment.It's a shame, Janet is great.
