Katie14 4,828
Gaga is ridiculously hard-working and dedicated and I am extremely happy for all of her success. She truly deserves everything that she has.I have never felt any type of jealously towards her until recently. I hate this feeling because I think jealously is a disgusting and self destructive emotion to have. I think I feel this way because Im at a point in my life where I am confused about what to do next career wise. My path is very uncertain and ambiguous while Gaga seems to be on top of the world right now. She knows, and always knew, exactly what kind of career she wanted, was born with the talent to be successful, and had the confidence and fearlessness to pursue her dreams. I also think Im feeling this way now because I kind of would like to be an actress, but I know that type of career is so unrealistic for me. Maybe just seeing her do all these things that I would like to do is kind of frustrating because I know its not possible for me.She is such a hard worker and I feel like I could be a hard worker too. I just don't have anywhere to channel my energy. I don't even know how to explain this. I just feel like I am wasting my potential while she is digging so deep and using every ounce of hers. I just can't help but compare myself to her because she is such an inspiration and big part of my life. I feel like my existence is pathetic and useless compared to hers though I know its silly to compare myself to her. She is 1 in a million. I guess I just feel close to her in a way. Like if one of your friends gets a part in a movie, you would feel like its possible for you too. It doesn't seem so far fetched anymore. She just makes it seem like if you work hard enough, you can achieve whatever you want because she did it. In reality, that is so far from the truth. There is so much competition in this world and everything has to fall in place perfectly to get your dream job or dream life. There is a huge amount of luck involved and I don't think she has every acknowledged that.I truly am happy for her and I probably sound so whiny. We really only see the glamorous and exciting side to her life. We do not get to see the hours of tedious rehearsal, the lack of sleep, the pressure, the mismanagement, ect. So I am probably thinking that her life is way different from how it truly is. I know she has had a lot of struggles in her personal life and career. Its not like her life has been this perfect rosy experience. But, at least she has something to show for it. I feel like I don't.This is just how I feel and I wish I didn't feel this way because I am disgusted with myself. Im kind of embarrassed to even post this...Anyway, have you ever felt this way? Warholian 6,880
i yam jelous of her coinz and her trophy slave-husband-male human-subordinate partner Kevin Parker, Mac Demarco, Mark Ronson, and a stoned Lady Gaga. Need I say more?
ChasingGhosts 726
I feel slightly jealous. I've always known what I wanted to do career wise and have always been ambitious and driven so its not that I'm jealous of her work ethic and focus, just that she's on top of the world and doing what she loves for a living and I'm not quite there yet. I know I will be eventually though. Born This Way > Joanne > The Fame Monster > The Fame > ARTPOP

Bad Bromance 5,809
Not at all because I firmly believe as human beings we can all accomplish anything we set our minds to and if we word really hard, we can make our dreams become a reality. The secret is to want something with every ounce of your being and telling yourself you're going to work as hard as possible to attain whatever it is you want. After working your a$$ off, you eventually reach your goals. Gaga has worked her buns off to get to where she is. Nothing was handed to Gaga on a silver platter so if any of us wants that kind of life, we have to be willing to work blood, sweat and tears to make what we're dreaming of a reality. I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
swordstalker 1,829
There's a fine line between jealousy and admiration. I've always admired how insanely hard-working and fearless she is. I try to emulate that, because I can get complacent and discouraged. I never feel jealous of that, because I know that my work ethic and my introversion is something I'm in control of, so I can achieve it if I work hard and smart enough. In other words, Gaga worked hard to get where she is, and you and I can do that too. Basically, I admire someone if they have qualities I want to have, and I'm jealous of people that have things I can never have or I'm not in control of (for example, being really beautiful). That's just me, anyway.

That is a very positive way of thinking but I do think that certain careers, especially artistic/entertainment ones, are very challenging. There are tons of people who are actors or singers and they make enough money to support just themselves and have to live with roommates. This type of lifestyle is ok when you are in your teens and twenties. Eventually though, people get married and have kids. Then, the career that allowed you to just get by before, would have to be abandoned. You essentially have to make it pretty big in the artistic world in order to have enough money to support a family (and I don't even mean being super famous) In order for this to happen, you have to be born very talented, then you have to know what you want at a pretty young age so you can refine your talents as you grow into an adult, then you have to be at the right place at the right time. Its just seems so impossible.

Shaney 5,515
Yes, she does everything I would love to do, I feel worthless compared to someone who has as much power as she does, to be quite honest. I wanted to post a thread like this earlier today but I figured I would get bashed. You summed my thoughts up in a way that I couldn't have expressed! I have a good work ethic too, I just don't have a way of using it the way she does if that makes sense.
